Hello I was just wondering if anyone is on the same boat as I am.
I was educated in Canada and took the CRNE and failed it. I am few points away from passing it. After few months NCLEX came to Canada and took the NCLEX with the thought of maybe I can wing it to pass it. It was a huge mistake !!! I studied with a friend who was also in the same situation as I am right now. Learned lots that the approach I did was way off on how to approach the questions !!!. We decided to study together and took Hurst Review and after our third try, she passed and I didn't. In Canada, we are only allowed to take 3 attempts and thats it. I have applied in Arizona, awaiting for my credentials to be evaluated, hoping that I will be allowed to site the NCLEX again with unlimited attempts.
Any thoughts, advices or anybody who have already exhaust their max attempts and going on the same process as I am.
Thanks
Thanks, Bihngwe. What is your home country if you don't mind me asking and which state are you applying, California? It's good to hear someone like you sharing this this kind of information. It provides valuable information to those who doesn't know.
You must have a valid SSN or ITIN to even apply in CA or your application will be rejected without refund. IN requires a license in country of education.

I am aware California is a bit tricky. From the past, they usually haveve a separate credentialing among other states. New York is another one. I have seen this with my family when they went to do their papers in Pharmacy, Accounting, Architecture, and PT.
Mentoring is also an issue with them. Even though I have lots of families in California, I tried not to apply there to get away from issues that may arise in completing the requirements.
I already inquired about SSN with few states and I do agree that some states will require it nevertheless a majority of them do provide a temporary one which usually starts with "0". I do say this because I had temporary SSN issued to me in the past without being a resident of the US.
Just curious justbeachynurse, does it say on IN site about being licensed in your country of origin. Thanks.

Country of education not country of origin.
"VERIFICATION OF LICENSURE - Graduates of foreign schools of nursing shall meet the following qualifications before being licensed in Indiana: Be licensed in the territory or country in which they graduated. We must receive official verification of your nursing license from the territory or country you graduated in."

Thanks. That was helpful.

Aren't we all are. We always over analyze things especially if we have that work experience. Really it's hard to get away with that. They will not let us graduate in nursing school if we don't know the basics. I just believe that there are always poor test takers and doesn't mean you pass it first time or 100 times you will be a better nurse over the other one. I have some people that I talked to from other states in Facebook and some of them got it for fourth try or less. They over analyze things and panicks. But keep hanging in there. I will not lose hope.
I am curious to know what did New York BON said when you transfer apply your application to them since you were not successful in your previous state of application.
P.S. I always find state of NY accommodating for repeat test takers. I have few friends from PT that took exams in their because NY allows it many times. I wanted to apply in NY but my credentials I had before we're forwarded to IERF and wanted to use their service again but they do not process NY application
Thanks
