Failed the NCLEX

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hello everyone,

I see so many posts on people passing the boards their first try but unfortunately, I am one who didn't. I know I am not alone but I wanted to hear from anyone who may have had similar problems with anxiety in taking the NCLEX. I know for me I pushed myself way too soon to take the test after graduating, getting married, honeymooning and taking the test the following week.

After about question 88 I had a panic attack and my pulse started racing. I never recovered and the computer shut off at 155 questions. I had no idea how I did until today.

I plan on taking Kaplan's online course as my second prep class and hope it helps better than the first course I took.

So if anyone has any words of wisdom for me, I would appreciate it.

Here's to Abraham Lincoln who never gave up and neither will I.

I just took the NCLEX and failed. I was so disappointed and embrassed for in myself. All of the study and preparing and I still failed the exam.

I had a job line up and everything just waiting to pass the NCLEX now I'm back to square one. If there is anyone that has some advice or a plan that helped them the second time around can you please share it with me I would greatly appreciate.

I just took the NCLEX and failed. How do you get Suzanne's Plan. I am really needing some HELP right now!sad face

Welcome

You need to complete the first tip and then send a pm to Suzanne with all the information as required in the sticky. Check it out. You will need 15 posts to send a pm

It was a good choice on your part on taking the Kaplan course; I took it and it was really benefical; just make sure you follow their question plan and do the the set amount of questions they give you everyday until your ezam comes. I took mine today and finished at 75 and I feel Kaplan helped alot. Just believe in yourself and try to be calm whn you sit at the computer.

Hello everyone.

I am new to this website and I found it very inspirational for me to read what everyone has on their view of NCLEX-RN. I took my exam in July and unfortunately didn't pass. I feel horrible now and even worse when I find out everyone in my class seems to passing, why not me? I need to get back into the gear so I can pass. Any words of wisdom from anyone? :crying2:

Treat it as a new exam (well it is) Decide on how you are going to study and plan. Alternatively think about doing Suzanne's plan, all info can be found as a sticky

I have already started Suzanne's first tip. Thank you for your input.

You are welcome and good luck

Jacel,

I understand your issue here. I just found out today I failed my exam for the second time. It is truly devastating and destroys your confidence when you first hear but the thing is when you truly want something I mean truly want it is you have to do everything you can to get it. Im gonna try Suzzane's plan. I mean it cant hurt right. Keep your head up and just try your hardest. I know I am a great nurse despite not passing the exam two times. I know im going to pass it this time. Please let me know how you do!

The exam does not define us and the test is very different than school

Keep trying...i am too! :)

I had the same problem...it was anxiety...I really feel that i was pretty prepared but then when I started the test I felt like I was having a panic attack...it was crazy. I have never felt that type of anxiety before during a test...and it was my first time taking the NCLEX...so....I can really relate to the anxiety thing. Next time I am going to really be calm...I am already preparing ahead of time!
