failed nclex

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

i have taken the nclex twice already and i am preparing to take it again the third time... i would like to know if there is a cut off limit to the amount of times you can take it in a year...

Exactly.. don't give up. I also failed the first time, took a week to feel bad for myself, then realized that I didn't go through all the hard years of school to just give up now. I bought the Saunder's book and read for about 5 hours a day for a month until my exam. Did about 150 questions a day and read ALL the rationales. I mean all of them. I reminded myself that I had to study like this was my first time taking the test. The day came and I took each question slowly and passed at 75. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that u fail twice. I fail once and i haven't reschedule to take the test again. I feel like I'm afraid to take it again. I'm pulling myself together and getting ready again to focus on passing. I know we can do it. We all came to far to just give up are dream of becoming a nurse. Good luck everyone

Does anyone know how to retake the test if you failed? I know you hav to re register with pearson vue and pay the 200 dollars, but do you have to register with the BON again? I am in new york. Thanks

I was also wondering if you can use Saunders 3rd edition for suzannes plan?

Check with your BON, but I had to pay $75 to the BON along with the paperwork that will come in the mail. Also, I had to pay the $200 again to pearson vue to retake the test. About Saunders, you should be using the 4th edition because it has all of the alternative type questions on the cd and is the latest version. Hope this helps!

There is no limit to taking the exam. It just keeps getting expensive, so really prepare yourself and be confident in yourself before you test again, so it can be your last time!!!!Good luck

The best thing to do is:

" Take a deep breath, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, start all over again."

We can do this. Just because we fail, doesn't mean we are not going to be Great Nurses in the future..

Very good advise. I hear alot of good things about Suzanne's Plan. I would also recommend reading through the Random Facts Sticky Thread. My preceptor failed NCLEX twice and is a totally awesome nurse.:D Never give up and don't dwell on it. You will pass and you will become a great nurse. Best of luck!:loveya:

Pray All Day

It is easy to get over committed, burned out, bummed out, worn out, and stressed out about NCLEX and if you are trying to keep up with too many commitments. It is out of balance to try to do everything.

Anxiety is usually a sign that God never told you to do what you are doing in the first place. To avoid frustration in your life, keep in balance. Always pray if you do study a lot but your luck of prayers things wont be balance. i am still preparing for the big exam and i pray that all of us with suzanne's plan with God we can all pass our exams. wish us all the blessings in the world of nursing.:heartbeat

Well, I live in IL and i know here, you have 3 years from the time of graduation to pass the NCLEX, if you dont pass within 3 years, you need to show proof that you went back to school (i guess for a refresher course or something like that) for a year and THEN you can retake the exam. Good luck to you.

good luck you can do it
