TO PEOPLE THAT BELIEVE YOU CANT PASS W/ 265Qs
i just wanted to say thanks to everyone at allnurses.com but most importantly, to GOD. He made it all possible! i failed the first time with 265Qs...so when i took it on wed. and also got 265Qs, i was beyond devastated. Just found out 10 min. ago that i passed!!! for future test takers, DONT BE DISCOURAGED by the # you get. i am living proof that you can fail OR pass at the maximum # (or any other number for that matter). Good luck to everyone!!

Lots of SATAs on NCLEX = good or bad??
do you think thats a good sign or a bad sign. i heard that those were higher level questions. then again, i had to do 265 questions and only had 18. you hear crazy things like people who only had 75 questions and half of em were SATAs. this wait is taking forever...wish me luck and pray for me. I hope all of us pass and never have to look at NCLEX ever again. Thanks everyone!

failed nclex
Well, I live in IL and i know here, you have 3 years from the time of graduation to pass the NCLEX, if you dont pass within 3 years, you need to show proof that you went back to school (i guess for a refresher course or something like that) for a year and THEN you can retake the exam. Good luck to you.

Will try to beat NCLEX 2nd time around, any words of wisdom?
Hi everyone, I took NCLEX for the first time on July 8th, got 265 questions in about 5 hrs., and failed. To top it off, I had my DAD call the number to find out if i passed because i was too scared to find out for myself. Needless to say, my dad had some very depressing news for me. I felt like i not only failed myself, but my entire family. Luckily, i did not have a job lined up unlike some of my friends from school. Nurses from work were so supportive. My family and friends have shown me that failing the test is NOT the end of the world. What also made me feel better was seeing my results sheet that said i was near the passing standard in all areas and that i was not below passing standard in any area. That showed me that i DID learn stuff from school and that with more focused studying, i could probably beat NCLEX the next time. ANYWAY, im just here looking for some words of wisdom. I have begun looking at the random facts thread which is AWESOME. I am also almost done with Saunder's 4th Edition & I plan on testing again by the end of this month. Thanks all for your help!

hey, i am also in the same boat as you. i failed the first time (265Qs) and i will be taking nclex again by the end of sept, hopefully. im just waiting for my ATT so i can re-schedule. i felt like my questions fluctuated a whole lot from easy to super hard. LOTS of priority questions for me. i sure hope it will be easier the 2nd time around. good luck to you!

Nclex Tuesday
dont expect the computer to shut off at 75 & just keep answering each question to the best of your knowledge as they come. everyone says to completely relax the day before so your mind can absorb everything you learned. other than that, have a glass of orange juice on tuesday morning (my instructor said it will give your brain a jump start) & just go in there with confidence. good luck to you!

I'm struggling to decide
I havent done kaplan...but people have told me repeatedly that no matter what, no matter how long it takes and no matter how many review books youve read and classes youve attended, you're never going to feel 100 % completely ready for nclex. take a deep breath, relax the day before, and go in with confidence. good luck!

What to do before taking the NCLEX!

Saunders... Exam mode or study mode?
The book tells you to do the exam mode once youre done with the book. Plus, it gives you practice sitting at the computer for a lengthy period of time. If there's some areas you need more practice on, i think you can specifically focus on those in quiz mode. I'm almost done with saunders. and i hope to re-test by the end of sept. good luck!
- So Happy!!!

Have you ever taken an NCLEX exam to qualify for the same license?
Thank you so much for your help!

TIPS from PASSERS and TAKERS
sitting down in front of a computer doing all those questions will better prepare you for what's ahead. don't expect the computer to shut off after 75 questions. Just answer each one to the best of your knowledge. Don't think that just because youre getting more questions, youre going to fail. The more questions you get, the more chances the computer is giving you to pass. Good luck!

the wait is killing me!
you can check in 2 business days at the same time that you started the exam. thats the earliest you can find out. good luck!

Have you ever taken an NCLEX exam to qualify for the same license?
This may be a stupid question but i re-applied today at pearsonvue.com (NCLEX-RN in IL) and had to answer this question: Have you ever taken an NCLEX exam to qualify for the same license? I answered "no" but dont exactly understand what they're asking. Can someone please explain? Thanks so much!
