Failed NCLEX RN TWICE...HELP ME PLEASE!

Do you have test anxiety before you go in and take the test. We all have it to some degree about a big test but I know for me if I work my self up to much I will not read the question correct. What is main content that was on your test?

My test was primarily about teaching and delegating with some other stuff mixed in..a little of everything. I don't know what my problem is>>i had the same problem with my HESI..i took HESI 3 times! The sad thing is that I know my stuff I just don't test well! I'm so sad....

I think everyone knows this by now, but I took the damn thing 5x..... I just passed. I have severe test anxiety. My teacher told me if I didn't relax, I wasn't going to make it through nursing school. I made it. I think you have to sit down, clear your head and start from the beginning. Make a list of stuff you are confident in and stuff that you know you could brush up on. Start with the weaker list and focus on that daily. Mine was endocrine, psyche and maternity. The disk I had allowed me to choose whichever subject I wanted questions on, then I went back to my textbooks. The lady that I had as my review teacher said to take the question at face value. Do not put in "what if" All the information you need is right there. Delegation, I memorized this way. Please no offense to anyone it's just a way I learned to remember stuff. RN's get the patients that require assessment, teaching and discharge they are the head honchos;; LPN's get all patients that are considered stable and do not require the 3 that RN's have. They can do meds, dressing changes, etc.;; CNA/UAP get the left over little stuff that MA's can do Vitals, UA's, specimen collection, I &O etc. I studied stuff from previous tests that I was weak in and of course I only got 1 psych question, NO maternity and about 6 endocrine. Each time I took the test, I made mental notes. If I flunk, I have to look up Addison's and Cushings, I need to check on the question i had about newborns and Rhogam or whatever the case was. Just take your time. Next time you take your test, get a good nite's rest, eat a light breakfast, take a deep breath and focus. Look at the question at face value quietly talk it out to your self, throw out the answers you know are wrong and narrow it down. Good luck on your next try.

Took it for the 5th time last Wed and finally passed. Best thing to do is keep trying.

I recommend Saunder's Comprehensive Review book and the CD that comes with it. Do both the book and the CD. I also recommend Prioritization, Delegation Assignment by Linda LaCharity. All I did was those two plus the NCLEX 3500, and I just found out that I passed! Also, be sure to read the rationales for both correct and incorrect answers.

I used Saunder's Comprehensive Review and Saunder's Q & A book. I did all of the questions in both books, as well as the quizzes and tests on the CD that comes with them. I passed the first time with these, and I actually recognized quite a few questions on the NCLEX that were VERY identical to questions in these books. I highly recommend them! Good luck next time!! Don't give up!

Ok>>>so we all know I failed as per the Quick Results...so when do I get the Envelope from the Board>>>first time I failed I took the test the Wednesday got the "BIG BROWN ENVELOPE" the saturday> I took test on June 10 th and still have not received the "BIG BROWN"...is it a possibility they are double checking my results?????

Either way, the envelopes come pretty quick. I took test #4 on a Tues, got my brown envelope on Friday. #5 was taken on a Wednesday, got my certificate on Monday. Hard to tell....depends maybe on your state.

I have horrible test anxiety also. Thanks for sharing what you did to get through it, and Congrats on passing! This will help many of us who are in the same situation as you were in.
