Can anyone help me what l need to do. I have failed nclex RN 3 times...am about to give up now, dont know what else to do. I have done the Kaplan, Hurst review, saunders, lacharity. l will appreciate any suggetions. Please help......!!!!

stick with the source that you have. there is nothing wrong about your sources. It's about you, study habits how long you study in a day, practice questions and if you really understand what you are reading. don't rush things up. been there done that. i failed nclex once but i studied again same books self review, but this time no rush. don't force yourself to read alot of chapters in a day just to say you have read study alot. just read what you can fully understand then rest. and yes 2nd time i nailed it. you can do it too.

Be persistent. As long as you haven't been slacking off, you will pass if you keep at it.

It took my bestfriend 3 tries to pass his nclex rn due to waiting a yr and 1/2 to take it after graduation. He told me he went to Kaplan live review and used Kaplan qbank and passed 3rd attempt. He said Kaplan is close to what nclex style questions look like .

Thank you all for your suggestions. l will try again differently, like you said, dont rush. Keep me in your prayers, am realy sad to keep failing this NCLEX. But l know God has my back.

I used NCSBN as my primary resource for their question banks. I used SO many resources and felt that NCSBN questions were JUST like what I had seen on nclex. But you also need to remember that you could do 5 million questions and it won't really help you unless you legitimately do a through content review.

So stick with it, brush off any doubt, and believe in yourself!!! You can do it!! :-)

I agree with all of the above but most especially with Kaplan questions being the closest to the NCLEX and your level of content understanding. You could read and read and never remember enough. Use all your senses...review by reading, saying it outloud, making study sheets, imagining it in your mind. If you see it, say it and here it you will remember much better. Find a study group or hire a tutor. Work on learning how to answer all the different types of questions. Kaplan is good with that too! Good luck!

You could also use the 4000 Qbanks a couple of the questions out for me . Also when you do your exam on the computer relax and read the questions then when it comes to choices use what kaplan live teaches. Important thing , i believe that when you are less worried during the exam it will help you relax to be able to think critically. Prayer with effort of studying does work.

Dont give up cause when times you feel giving up -you just an inch away from success:)

Do saunders qbanks and read the rationals make your own personal notes as well.

You can do it!!!

mstones Do Not give up I just failed with 211 questions and I ran out of time. I used Hurst Review and NCSBN and practice some Kaplan Qbank questions. I signed up for Kaplan because my critical thinking and testing strategies needs to improve before I re-test.
Can anyone help me what l need to do. I have failed nclex RN 3 times...am about to give up now, dont know what else to do. I have done the Kaplan, Hurst review, saunders, lacharity. I have heard of Suzzane's plan but is not available anymore. Does anyone have a copy? l will appreciate any suggetions. Please help......!!!!

HI, I totally understand where you are comming from. I took the test 2x and I just took the test days ago and found out that I finally PASSED on my 3rd try in only 75 questions! I have all the same books you have, except for hurst review, but I aslo had NCLEX4000 cd. On my third try, this is what I did to finally pass.

I took Kaplan course review book and read only 20-25 pages a day and I did 30 question practice test or 50 question practices pertaining only to what I read on nclex 4000, saunders cd, and kaplan questions, as many question that I could find on those 20 pages, that took me 6 hours a day. And when I got the question wrong I went and looked it up and reread it EVERY TIME. I would reread the 20 pages I read before and read 20-25 pages new pages.

After, I finished the KAplan course book. I started working with a tutor 2x a week for 3 weeks. And she wasnt a friend of mine, I actually paid her!! She was on my dime, so there no time for small talk. She is a nurse who passed the nlcex. We sat together and did only questions on kaplan, and nclex 4000. Let me clarify, we did practice tests, and 75 question test or 200 question tests with mixed topics for example, psychosocial, safety and infection, medsurg, health and maint etc, etc..

With EVERY question she had asked me WHY I choose an answer and I had to tell her my thoughts and rationale. She would then agree or disagree with my rationale and challenge me to THINK HARDER and THINK HARDER and Keep THINKING does that answer really make sense?? And If I didnt know an answer I had to look it up and reread it until that concept was stuck in my brain. We did that for 6-10 hours a week. My practice test scores jumped from 54% to 65%!! I was soo happy. And after that practice test after practice test, and my scores jumped to 71%. I took the test and passed:) YAY!

DO not give up! If you know the info, then its just the test taking skills. Sit with someone who took the test and see how they are thinking and compare it to how you are thinking. ITs all about how you interpret the answers, because you need to answer the analyitcal/application level questions correctly to pass the test. Eventually, it will come and you will pass! GOOD luCK!

PS the lacharity is really hard, too difficult for the nclex but I did a few chapters only up to chapter 7 and I had alot of priority questions, and I still passed.

Thank you all for your help....God bless you all. I now feel confident l can do this, l will try to put more time in my studies.....is hard with work but...l have to sacrifice. Again, thank you all for your suggestions.

Keep trying, you can do it.
