Failed, nclex rn 5 times! Help?!?!

Published

EVERYONE I need all the advice, suggestion, and help as much as possible! So I am completely bum-out and am starting to feel maybe I'm just not meant for a RN (as I am told by some people). I have just taken the NCLEX-RN and it's been more than 24 hours and am pretty confident that I FAILED it. I am trying to gather all my strength but it is so tough to get all that courage again. Starting to feel really discouraged! Has anyone taken their NCLEX-RN recently that FAILED 5 TIMES LIKE ME? Or, am I the only one?! I will tell you that I have taken the NCSBN 15 week course (didn't exactly finish all the practice questions), but reviewed all the contents in there as well as questions in both the Saunder and Lipprocotts booklet that relate to those contents reviewed both right and wrong rationales and even jotted down notes to review before the exam. With a part-time job, mother, and wife I put about 3 months into this whole reviewing/studying contents etc. to make sure I went in with confident to pass this exam but in the end, I still didn't. I feel like I'm running out of choices here. The exam I took had about 3 SATA, no math, 2-3 really long paragraph (about 3-4 sentences long, which I thought I was in the passing level, perhaps?) and the rest was just about 1-2 sentence long. I didn't even make it pass 75 questions. That's terrible!!!! For those that have passed the nclex rn did you rec'd a lot of questions in paragraph form like 3-4 sentences long? Or perhaps 2-3? I'm sure 1-2 was just below or near the passing level. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE... I need the help all I can get what I can do differently, review differently etc. Anything will be GREATLY appreciated! Sounds really desperate but I am determine to pass this next time and if I don't I have no idea how to move on...

I have filed the Enclex RN first time because I haven't prepared well, and I was thinking that I may be able to pass it based on 95% ATI passing upon my graduation from nursing school. During the first attempt, I actually only review the medication from the ATI, and I haven't read any NCLEX review Book. After the first attempt, I started to study Kaplan Review (70% of Q-bank), redo the whole ati questions (not the vitual ATI though), reading all the context of Saunders (attempting all the questions after chapter at once), taking 3 weeks course from the NCSBN ( I did not read all the context subject to the time constraint, but I read through all the questions). In fact, I spent three months to finish reading all the things I have mentioned. I finally passed the Enclex at 75 question - 29 questions out of which are SATA. I have never seen one question from NCLEX in an exact same way like I had encountered before even during nursing school or during the moment I was studying the review course. Yes it was hard, but I believe people who made through nursing school should be able to overcome it if you are really determined. In fact, it is really testing your understanding instead of simply remembering the answer - the key " knowledge plus critical thinking +stay calm during the moment of Enclex exam ".Thank you very much for your time to reading this.

I hope this feed of advice reaches you it sounds like anxiety look at it this way can you teach an anixous patient? Limit your resources to only 2 sources I took NCLEX 6 times I passed on my 6th round. I did Uworld and happynclex with Joan Palmeri the Nurse Project she teaches testing strategies, study skills, and anxiety management. Its an interactive online course. Look her up. Majority of her clients are repeat test takers and foriegn nurses.

I can imagine you're discoraged but don't give up!

I graduated, took my exam, failed (in 75 questions), and after that life happened- I was planning a wedding, got discouraged and didnt pick back up for over a year. I ended up hearing about this program through a friend who had failed and then passed with 75 questions. This lady is amazing! She teaches nurses all over the world how to pass the Nclex; there were ladies in there who passed after not looking at a book for over 7 years. Her name is Josie Udan, and she's in southern california. We even had people who flew in from NY to take her program.

Anyways, this book is SO good. Its all the concepts and information thats on the nclex in a really easy to understand manner. I read the book, created flash cards, and did questions out of this book I bought from her (she made it). Oh, did I mention she helps to design the nclex? I was so scared but I ended up passing with 75 questions!

I'm so thankful I was introduced to her, so I thought I should share.

I recently took CA NCLEX on Dec 16th & passed (result came up after 3days on breeze) it was my 1st try & i did the LVN to RN which worried me coz our program was really fast (8months) We utilized Kaplan from the very start of the program & used it as well for the NCLEX prep (assessment tests, predictor,Qtrainers etc)

It took my ATT 4months to process ugh[emoji58] yup CA BRN.

I finished Kaplan Qbank & Saunders book & online q bank. I also purchased a month of UWorld ( they have excellent SATA questions)

Believe in yourself & focus. All of the topics you've learned already. Just review the ones that you're not super good at ( mine's Maternity & Pediatrics)

I study & did qbank 2-3hrs / 3days a week. I cannot force myself to study more than 3hrs and it works for me. I reviewed & tried to memorize lab values on the last week before my test.

Goodluck to you![emoji93]

Congrats I only had 1 lab value question but lots of SATA
