I failed nclex 2 days ago. I did hurst review though for sure i would pasd. I know the content just second guess every thing on the test. Please help with suggestions i feel lost.

Prepare your application to retest and start to study again. Take test. If necessary, repeat the process until you pass the exam.

I moved your post to the NCLEX forum to ensure maximum responses.

If you feel like you know the content, but just talk yourself out of the correct answers, maybe you need to find a test-taking strategy that works for you. I used Kaplan to study and found that program really helpful. Take loads of practice tests and methodically work through each questions, eliminating options until you settle on the answer.

I used uworld.com to prepare and passed NCLEX-RN. The platform is set up to look just like NCLEX, which i noted helped me quite a bit with my test taking anxiety just because I was familiar with it, also the questions require a lot of critical thinking and the rationales are excellent. I did about 100-200 questions per day until I finished them all (provides you with just a little bit over 1,700 questions, and 2 practice predictor tests 75q each). A friend of mine who failed on the first try recommended it to me, so maybe you can check that out. Hang in there ! Best luck to you and hope this helps.

I graduated 2013, failed once with hurst. Studied again with kaplan and failed again 2014. Passed with 75 questions with UWorld Jan 2017. English is my second language. If I can do it, you definitely can too!

Eat healthy, light exercise, be nice to yourself, stay positive and FOCUS, you can do it.. :) Good luck..

First, I wanted to say, I'm sorry that happened, I know how frustrating it must be. I just listened to an audiobook that I think would help you out. It's only 2 hours and like $5 Called "Unlimited Memory" Kevin Horsley is an expert on memory and a lot of what he talks about are not just techniques, but that confidence in techniques = confidence in memorization = confidence on exams. I think starting your journey with a short non-NCLEX book would be a good start to first get out of your head then get back into it with a refreshed and positive mindset.

I did Hurst and Kaplan while in school. I used the Kaplan method for test taking strategies when all else failed. However the book Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment by LaCharity was my main study tool after graduation. I passed the first time with 75 questions. My classmate failed her first time after taking the entire test, and after the book she passed the second time with 76 questions. I would suggest reading rationales since you might get some practice questions correctly, but for the wrong reason. Go over every single question, not just missed ones. That would help you to verify if your thinking is on the path they are looking for. If you pick an answer, also think why it is not the other three. That helps a bit with second guessing. Don't add anything else in the question when you are answering. Try to only focus on the info they provide. Absolutely no practice the night before and eat breakfast the morning of. You will be great next time!
