failed nclex with 75 qs

Published

I just found out I failed the nclex with 75 questions. I honestly thought I was going to pass I felt prepared and pretty confident. I studied non stop with kaplan finished all the bank questions, my highest score was a 68% i even got a 87.6% on the prioritization sample practice test. I feel so horrible right now and discouraged but so ready to get back to studying. I already paid for the next exam. I just don't know what else I can do to prepare, anyone have any suggestions that were on the same boat as me?

Hi there

I'm sorry to hear that you failed your NCLEX but it seems like you have a good study plan for the second time.

Can I ask did you try the PearsonVue Trick (PVT) prior to finding out you failed?

Noo i did not try it i was too nervous but i have a classmate that took the test and tried the trick and she had the good pop up and she failed so i dont know if i would trust it or how accurate it is

Ah okay well I took my NCLEX on 4/21 and got 75 questions as well. I still don't know my results but I used UWORLD primarily to study and I felt as though all 75 questions I got I had gotten or reviewed.

Did you feel confident walking out the test or did you know you failed? But yes UWORLD was amazing in my opinion and worth every penny.

Oh wow thats a long time to wait for the results did you try calling them to find out whats taking so long? I actually felt very confident and thought i passed but i found out i need to focus and study infection control that was my weakness and i had alot of qs's on that

Unfortunately I have a criminal record (DUI) so they are delaying on releasing my results. I am going into a stipulated agreement with the BRN and this can take up to a month or two... sigh

The only thing I know right now is that I am getting the "good" pop up 24 hours after the test but as we already know that isn't 100% reliable. Best of luck to ya!

Ohh ok thats why. Best of luck to u too im sure you passed!

Soo...i just took NCLEX (2ND time) and passed with 75 questions. I'll tell you what I did first time and 2nd time.

First time around:

Did Hurst review - school paid for it. But I honestly didn't feel like it prepared me for anything.

Did UWORLD - just did questions, never wrote anything down.

Did the Mastery NCLEX app - answered questions but never wrote anything down.

Took NCLEX - failed it with 106 questions.

2nd time around:

Saunders NCLEX review book (big purple one) - WASTE OF MONEY because I never used it.

Saunders Strategy (yellow) - waste of money, same information is on the internet.

UWORLD - Answered all 1800 questions and STUDIED every rationale (this is what helped the most).

Lacharity book - did all questions in a few days.

ALLNURSES - 35 pg study guide - pfff..don't bother.

QUIZLET - this was my primary study guide. It has everything you need. All questions and review material from kaplan, hurst, ncsbn is all right there for you for FREE! This and UWORLD was the only material I needed to pass the 2nd time around.

Took NCLEX - Passed with 75 questions in 80mins. I honestly felt like it was one of the easiest exams of my life because I was very well prepared for it.

Hope this helps! Good luck!

Congrats thats awesome!! What exactly did you use on quizlet because i know there are many already done quizzes on there?

How are you all finding out if you passed or not? I just took mine today too. I'm nervous. It cut off at 75 as well

I had to wait to find out my unofficial results on pearson 48 hrs after

I used quizlet for content review mostly. For example: I would type in NCLEX NEURO and just go right at it till I felt comfortable in content. They also have tons of nclex q banks you can use to practice if you don't wanna pay for something like uworld. Let me know if you need any help. Do you know when you can take the NCLEX again?

Thank you i appreciate it! I already scheduled it i have 5 weeks to continue studying. I am going to purchase the month of uworld i only did kaplan because it was mandatory at my school and we paid $100 a semester
