I just found out I failed the nclex with 75 questions. I honestly thought I was going to pass I felt prepared and pretty confident. I studied non stop with kaplan finished all the bank questions, my highest score was a 68% i even got a 87.6% on the prioritization sample practice test. I feel so horrible right now and discouraged but so ready to get back to studying. I already paid for the next exam. I just don't know what else I can do to prepare, anyone have any suggestions that were on the same boat as me?

Don't get discouraged, your percentages are good, i suspect your anxiety level was really high that day. Get up, brush yourself off and use UWORLD with lacharity for the next 2 months, and then go and pass in 75 questions.
I am rooting for you :)
Thank you so much for your encouraging words, I really needed to hear that. I will have to try uworld and what is lacharity I haven't heard of that?
Priority, Delegation and Assignment by linda lacharity
Its a great prep book that specifically focuses on priority and delegation questions similar to what you would encounter on the actual exam. I personally think its a great tool, i bought mine on amazon for less than $15.
I will try it out thank you!!

Form a new strategy once your test results arrive with the category breakdown. I was told by an NCLEX coach that "Near Passing" means you're familiar with content but need help eliminating "distractors" in answer choices. "Below Passing" need content/topic review. i.e, below passing in Safety and Infection Control would indicate more review in PPE, Emergency response, hazardous material, home safety etc.
thank you! Do those results only come in the mail because I don't see anything in my email or on my account?

Uworld uworld uworld... I cannot stress this enough
Thank you. I have heard great things about uworld i am going to try that for the next 40 days I have left. I noticed that on kaplan they don't have any questions that contain the exhibit and i noticed uworld does by doing the sample test. I feel like that kind of threw me off on nclex because I wasn't familiar with those.
Yes. You should get them in the mail in about a week (or even less than that).
Don't rush, take your time and answer 50-75 questions a day from the same subtopic. some subtopics such as cardiology carry 170+ questions so it may command a little more time.
For the questions you answered incorrectly and or questions you answered correctly but wasn't sure of, write down the rationales. At the end of the day read over all rationales to reinforce your learning.
Memorize labs, with that said NCSBN stipulates the labs that you will encounter on the NCLEX. Some UWORLD questions incorporate labs that aren't necessary for the NCLEX, you can learn them, but dont stress over them.
Memorize therapeutic ranges for lithium, digoxin, carbamazepine. Read the rationals of all the incorrect options on the priority questions. Memorize all drug classes that cause orthopedic hypotention, ventricular tachycardia, hyperkalemia, nephrotoxcity, hepatotoxicity, ototoxicity, rhabdomylosis, agranulocytosis, serotonin syndrome. Know common interactions; ginger and wafarin equals thrombocytopenia no no.
Certain subject areas are a must know, and command alot of time such as endocrine, maternity and gastrointestinal.
UWORLD features all these topics, just treat UWORLD like an infant and spend alot of time reviewing it.
You cant go wrong with this bank! Good luck :)
Thank You so much for the feedback and great tips, I really appreciate it!:)
