Failed LPN nclex twice

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I took the nclex again 2 weeks ago and failed. Did all 205 questions. Studied my best and gave it my best and still failed. Been out of school for a year. At this point I'm feeling hopeless :( what would you guys recommend doing? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Im sorry :sorry:, dont worry you can take it again, and pass the next try. You are not alone, just because you dont pass does not mean will be a good/bad nurse. But, simply that competency was not met.

Lets start by what study materials did you use to take the test?

Thank You! Well I studied off the nclex cram book, the green Saunders, 100 questions everyday. This first time around I had a lot of math a few SATA a lot of priorities. 2nd time I felt like my it was mostly all SATA and Pharm and I didn't have any math. Ughh. Nclex and it's tricky ways. Idk if I should try kaplan?? Or how else to study at this point..

You are definitely NOT alone. This May will be my 4th try and hopefully it will be my last. Might I add.....I graduated in 2010. Take a breather, get all the negativity out of your system, and then study again. You can do it!!! =)

Yes I'm feeling a little better! I know I can do it! Good luck to you! You'll get it this time :) what are you studying this time around??

Will do :) Thank You!

In June it will b 2years since I graduated lpn school I failed the first time and now I just paid all my fees to take it again... Idk how confident I feel but I'm praying that I can re discipline myself again :-/ def not motivational but I'm starting my studying journey I have a few notes myself from someone else on here so let me know if you would like them as well

I would definitely do the kaplan course in your case. I have friends that graduated in dec 2012 and took kaplan and I remember many saying that it helped. I have a friend who studies day in and day out and still does not do as well on tests. He took the Kaplan and passed the first time. if you have just been doing books and online, I would definitely give an in-class kaplan instruction a chance.

I do agree that passing NCLEX does not make you a better nurse nor is failing it a reason to be discouraged. Sometimes we all need a little push.... Good Luck.

I know how it feels, its true all we need is a little push. It is still just one test on one day at one time, so we do not know what will face us But we have to have confidence that we will be able to think through the questions and give our best shot. I hope to pass this time too. Good luck, I'll message you. Thank You :)

I'm looking into it, I have also heard similar stories. Also trying to study differently then the way I was before. Thank You for the advice really appreciate it!

Not the best feeling when you're just hoping to see that "good pop up" only to see that it takes you to the billing info and maybe thinking well ill just wait for my results and still not good news :( I certainly have hope to see the "good pop up" this next time tho! Thank You guys! Again I really appreciate all the advice :)
