I failed my first NCLEX exam. I know I have to go back and prepare better this time. The stressors of everyday life have made it very difficult to focus on the preparation for the exam. Now I am broke, the bills are piling up, my teenage son well, eats like a teenager, and I can't get more student loans. I putted all my eggs in one basket (BSN program) so I don't have a CNA or LPN to fall back, and I need to get a job for now until I can retake the exam (of course I need the money to retake the exam).
I need some ideas, where do someone with a bachelors degree can find a job for now?
Thanks!

I might be wrong, but I thought nursing school students/grads are qualified to do tech work in a hospital. Maybe that's an option?
I don't really know. Do you need to get some kind of certification as a tech?

From what I have heard a 2nd semester RN student can sit for the CNA test in my state (OH).
This is also another option (CNA) ... I don't believe there is a certification involved for techs.

Go to your local acute care hospitals and see if they have any openings for techs or any other job title that does not require a CNA certificate and apply. Meanwhile contact the American Red Cross and see if you can use your schooling to do the paperwork to test to get your CNA certificate. You can also place your own ads to be a private caregiver or you can respond to ads for private caregivers. Some well to do clients pay caregivers quite well, others will want to see a CNA certificate first. Good luck.
