I don't doubt the program is great I will most likely do it ,im just trying to see what's the smartest way to go about my pre requisites, I may do them thru flvc online or Clep , but I want to hear about recently hire in south fl

I heard the smartest way is through your local community college. Cheaper.

I'm not in south florida, but neither is orlando so I guess I will answer. the tampa/lakeland area has openings as long as you have experience. otherwise there's not much. the few offers/interviews I received were for full-time positions. I was looking for part-time. I did get one but it was networking more than anything.

no one asked about excelsior and I know several people in the area who did the excelsior thing.

thank you !!! About time lol , I said south Florida because I lived Miami and just recently moved to lake Nona , Orlando and it is central Florida :) I see your are familiar with Valencia and ucf do you know if ucf takes the ADN from excelsior ? or what local school takes them?

Another question :) what's the truth behind the cpne ? When I took my nclex on I read so many post of people failing 1, 2 time and it was super hard but I went for my test it was more common sense than anything , so now I wonder why people fail the cpne or are those people with bad nursing habits? Unlucky? Unprepared? Or what ? The cpne scares me the most !!I I know in the real world things are not by the book but I but I keep good nursing habits of every day simple rules , so what was you experience ? Sorry for all the questions ... thank youuu:)

I'm not sure what you mean about valencia or ucf. it's an a.s. in nursing from a regionally accredited college.

the cpne is impossible unless you have examiners who don't know the study guide as well as they should and are willing to help to a certain extent. that's my opinion based on my experience.

impossible .., how did you do passed ? How many time did you take it and where did you take it? How long did it take you to do all of it ? I know is a lot of question but you say it like it is. That how I'm and I want to hear it from people like you . Thank you

I'm in jacksonville and graduated from EC in April of last year (2012), I had no problem getting interviews or a position after passing the NCLEX. I was offered positions at both interviews and took one starting at 60K- As far as the CPNE goes, it is tough but doable. You need to be prepared and know your study guide inside and out. I spent 8wks total from day one to day one of CPNE in Atlanta. I took a third party workshop and felt very prepared. I took the CPNE one time, failed one lab for my own minor mistake, got to re-take that lab and passed the weekend. My patient care areas passed all three the first time. It took me about 11mo start to finish and I had 13 total exams to take including gen eds. I used a third party paid for subscription (PM me for link if you want it) to help prepare me for the nursing exams. for Micro and A&P I used the "made easy" books and the vangonotes.com audio on my ipod to listen to in the car every day for 15 days. I took an exam appro every 2-3 wks and even passed Transitions after studying for 9 days. I like EC so much I stayed for my BSN and will complete that in December this year. hope that helps.

Heay Tasha! Thanks for you input :), 11month is really good  . I'm new to the site I don't know how to pm you private. Your post really motivate me today , actually today is a year I passed the boards . I was looking into Keiser but I'm looking for work, have school children and summer daycare expenses are brutal .I want to do this fast but I'm afraid $will my #1issue . I was planning in starting with the course because financial can pay for at least 4or 5classes and hopefully when I get a job continue to pay for exams , I'm hopeful . I will appreciate very much any help , tips, study guides , anything that you felt help you and can help me . I don't have any prerequisite, I was thinking in taking the a&p 1and 2as courses as well as the harder test to study for and take exam in the not so hard subjects . Did you have a study routine ? can you pm me for the third party subscription ? About the CPNE ....yes I'm terrified !!!! Is what I think about the most . So any tips on what help you is very welcome . Thank youuuu so much for posting :)
