EC grads,
Post your year of graduation and your specialty/specialties. I'll go first:
I've been a Level II/III Neonatal ICU nurse since graduation in January '06.
Update 5/2018: I've worked for a large NICU since 2009 in bedside and education roles, and I've been a clinical instructor. I finished EC's MS program in nursing education a couple of years ago. I was recently accepted to the Ph.D. program at a state university.
very proud of all the posters, unfortunately graduated in 2008, nclex 2009, worked as an lpn for 28+ yrs, in hospitals, nursing homes and most recently home care. Cannot get a job as an RN owing to the fact that i do not have the 2 yrs. RN hosp. experience,(lpn does not count) although i have exp. as a med. surg. nurse, ivs, cpr, ekg cert., but currently only prn homecare, so there, any advice is welcome. Unemployed right now, pounding the pavement. HELP.
CPNE 11/09, EC grad. 01/10, RN NCLEX 4/10 (LPN NCLEX 8/00), BSN 09/10, live and work Washington state.
Currently - Charge nurse/week end supervisor for 100 bed skilled long term care facility and I really love this job!
Past - pulmonary/Asthma/Allergy and research nursing
Hurdles - can not get hired on to local hospital, interviews with RN managers drilled me about my clinical experiences during school. Have applied for appx. 50 RN jobs at local hospital.
EC? Awsome, I could not have done it any other way.
THANK YOU EXCELSIOR!
