Hi,

I plan to take associate nursing programs, but I am confused about the tuition. do I have too pay both course fees and exam fees, or just pay for exam fees?

Thanks alot for your help

You need to go to the website for Excelsior College, http://www.excelsior.edu , and check out the section that discusses fees. You will need to pay a fee to enroll. After that, you pay a fee for each test. There are fees involved with completing the program and graduating. If you do not complete the program within the first year of enrollment, you will pay an administration fee each year to remain enrolled. All this is explained on the EC website.

Danny,

As I understand it.. you pay for exam fees if you test out of the exams. You pay for courses it you take the courses.

I'm taking the exams. I'm quite confident in my ability to pass Associates level Nursing finals (after all.. three upper-division psychology exams from Excelsior were no biggie)).

Why take the courses? They have online exam content outlines, buy the books from amazon (etc.) and just study and take the test.

Excelsior College exams are not "tricky". They say "here are things that can be on the test". You study those things.. you pass. It's not like the psycho crap you hear about traditional nursing school courses.

I would at least take the first exam after studying hard and see if you do well on it. If you hose it.. well that's a few hundred dollars that says you are the sort that needs to take the course.

Your getting confused with College Network. Excelsior only changes you one fee $235 per test. College network changes you their module fee $495 plus the exam fee $235. You do the math and see which one you rather pay. Download the Nurses catalog and read it and choose the "Associates Nursing exams". Again EC only changes one fee and that covers taking the exam. You have to go online and purchase the recommended books. College Network modules can be purchased on Ebay for really cheap prices.

I tested out of all the courses. If you feel confident, go by the study guide and if you want to pay the $65 take the paractice exams and go for it!!!!
