Excelsior A&P/Micro

Published

I've been looking at the A&P and microbio forums, but I feel like my topic is a little different.... Has anyone taken either class at Excelsior? Any suggestions - what books/materials did you use? How much did you study? - Thanks for all your help!

I registered for both at the same time - Which one should I do first? I'm nervous because A&P is ALL of it, in one test...

Where can I take the excelsior practice exams? Does anyone have the link? Thanks!

You take the practice exams through the EC website, but you can only register for them after you pay for the actual exam. The practice exams are $60, but well worth it -- you get two 100-question exams, and they are fabulous study tools. :) I felt that the practice exams were very helpful for both A&P and Micro. Good luck!!

Thank you for the info. I am not quite ready to take the exam, but will keep this in mind for when I register.

I took Microbiology through Excelsior but used Chancelor's study guide to pass...I passed with an A!!!! If you want info on it PM me.

Hello everyone! I'm not really sure if i'm in the right place, I haven't started with Excelsior yet, but its in the plan, a little confusing though to get started. I was going to take the Health Safety exam first to make sure this is the right program for me. They have 11 texts listed to take this exam. Do i need them all and are the same ones going to be used for other classes? also, i've looked on ebay for texts, but i seem to be coming up with study guides on cd from former students. has anyone used them and how reliable are they? thank you for anyones help!!! i am eager to get started with the program, just trying to figure some of this stuff out!

You don't need to buy all the text, if you purchase Fundamentals, Med-Surg, Maternity and Psych, those books are the bulk of the exams. The text listed for each exam repeats with other exams, and no you don't need them all.

I've only tried a couple cd's from passed students, Lisa Arends is one of them. The material is like 10 bucks and worth just that. For Health Safety I used, The College Network guides, notes off the yahoo groups and a tad bit of the Fundamentals text.

It's all up to you which route to go, for me, a combination of a few has helped thus far. The one study item that has help me and many others are the Excelsior practice exams $60 bucks and worth every penny.
