Did anyone get accepted and staring spring 2013?

Had my annual mask fit test and PPD today! So much stuff to keep up on. :snurse: I ran into some first semester students. Make sure your data base stuff is up-to-date and on-time. You can't go to clinical unless you are compliant. :)

I always feel a little anxious when we have to do the exercise part with the N-95 on- always feels like I need more O2. Other than that, easy breezy. PPD was fine- it's already disappearing.

For me- last summer was much more stressful. So much to get done before 1st semester.

When is your orientation? Do you have to have everything done this summer?

I go next month! But I don't start until Jan. I won't start submitting paperwork until September but I will have it ready well before. She already gave us a book bundle needed for first semester .. 450 u believe lol just great and the fun begins.. Did you buy your books through ati or cheaper elsewhere?

I bought the ATI book bundle thru ATI. I bought most of the other books through the school because I got the hard books which came with the e-books. The additional books I NEVER buy through the school. I always get the ISBN and get them off AMAZON. I saved a few hundred dollars that way. Regardless, you pay a boat load of money when you start. As you go- you still have costs, but not nearly like the first semester.

@medlove... Just curious if you received any book vouchers or any other programs for help paying for the books? Financial has not been real helpful.. I'm looking into loans an scholarships since I'm going to have to quit my job ugh.. I don't have a husband so it's all on me :)

I didn't. :( I have looked, but I don't qualify for them. I know other people in my class that did get help. I know one person who got a pretty large scholarship ($8000+) but that person has to commit to work in an under served community upon graduating for 2 years.

I also quit my job when I started (it would be so hard to work at the same time), but my husband works 2 jobs to make ends meet without my income while I am in the program.

My advice is to apply to everything you can. :)

Cnoto34- No classes during the summer. Some people take classes if they still have GE requirements to complete, but I have a BA - so I only take the RN classes, and those are only offered in Fall and Spring semesters. I wish we did take classes over summer. I feel like I will be rusty starting in the fall. :( We have not even gotten our schedules for fall yet. :(

I know how u feel and I start in January lol ... I have orientation in a few weeks so excited... Ugh
