Everest LPN- RN Bridge. Please help!!

Hello, I believe since Everest LPN program is just a one year program which doesnt require any prereqs, I honestly dont believe anything transfers. (theres nothing to transfer) If you wish to apply at one of the local community colleges you will be required to have the same nursing prereqs that everyone else has to have if you dont already have them such as Anatomy I and II, Psych, Micro, Nutrition, ect.... I know it seems like having an LPN certificate/degree you would be half way on your way to being an RN but unfortunately the community college wont accept anything. One good thing I've heard is that it's easier to get into an LPN to RN bridge program once you are an LPN and have all the required classes done.

I have the ADN pre rrq's all finished.. That's what I am asking, can I use my certificate as a way to get into a bridge program, since I already do have my pre-reqs done?!?

In your other thread about this I explained that the LPN to RN bridge programs require an LPN license. They also require acceptable transfer credits for the prerequisite courses.

Ok, good. I just want to make sure, the money I am dishing out for Everest, is going to be able to be used as a stepping stone for a RN program! :) I know I kinda already have a head start then most of my other fellow students because I spent 1 1/2 years at CC and got all my nursing pre-req's finished already.... Im currently enrolled at Everest for Jan 2010 LPN class. Does anyone know, once I graduate, which programs accept the PN certificate from Everest for their LPN-RN bridge programs?!? If you know, let me know, that would be fabulous. I already know about excelsior and college network, but what community college's etc...

I am currently enrolled at everest for jan. 2010 as well. I called schoolcraft college and they have the LPN to RN bridge program. I told her I was going to a vocational school and told her specifically Everest. I wanted to find out about transferring to get my RN. I was told as long as I have my LPN state license, that I would be eligible to apply to their bridge program. I was told it does not matter which school you attend for your LPN. She said the LPN to RN bridge program is one year. There are pre reqs however you will have to be sure you have from the community college such as A & P etc. The everest classes won't apply for that. It works for me because I have my associates from a community college with all the pre reqs required. Hope this info. helps

Thanks that helps a lot! Im actually doing the part-time program now in May instead of fulltime. I have to work full-time, so it works better for me! I work in a Hospital, and dont really want to leave my job for school, when Im in such a great job right now and working for an awesome Hospital! I wish u luck, and let me know how ur first couple of weeks go, Im really interested! :)

Do the pre-reqs still expire in 5 years for the LPN-RN bridge? From what I read the science classes like A&P and Micro are only good for 5.

Brittney-I didn't know they had a part time program starting. I heard talk about it but didn't know they started it up. What are the hours and how long does it take to complete the program?

Yes, they have a part-time program here in G.R. It's mostly for individuals who have to work/ or family oriented. The program takes 2 years, and is Mon-Fri 5:00-10:30 pm. Clinicals are agreed upon the individuals in the class what days are best, such as: Sat or Sun and what times. I was gonna personally opt for this, but I work 2md shift 7-7a, so that would never work! I talked to them yesterday, they called to check on me, and right now they start the Part time program again in Feb. and the Fulltime in May. I might have to do the fulltime option personally now, it's from 8-5pm Mon-Fri. Let me know what you think! :) and Yes, depending on some colleges, ur science pre-req's are good anywhere from 5-8yrs. Just depends on the school. :)

What kind of test did you have to take to get in?

Do they have a passing score?

Do they accept transfer credit?
