The best thing you can do like I did is talk to everyone and do all the research possible. Everst RN program is accredited. Do what im about to do and go get a CNA certificate it can cost you anywhere from 150 to 600 just look around. I then plan on working at a hospital and finding one that offers the most in tuition reimburstment. After that the student loans dont look so bad when someone else is paying them off for you.

Everest does not have an RN program. They have an MA program

The one in Grand Rapids & Southfield have a LPN Program also.

Well they are NOT on the list of approved RN programs on the Michigan Board of Nursing (if indeed everest even has a RN program I just thought they had LPN)....

They may have other fly by night accreditation for a RN program but I can tell you you are going to have a hell of a time trying to get a job somewhere with a degree from a school not approved by the MI BON.

I checked, and their LPN program is approved by the MI BON. Even at that I would still think long and hard at the program and would do the community college route instead. I think the quality of education is greater and the cost is much less.

I dont know where you got your info but I am going to believe all of the hospitals here in tampa fl when they say everest is accredited and and when i called the nursing board as well. So unless there lying to me but i dont think they are. Just do the research and the one here in tampa fl does offer RN. Not every one wants to wait 3 or 4 years to get a dagree they can get in 21 mos. And sometimes you have to wait even longer to get into the RN program at a community college. And if you play it smart you can get most of he 38,000 paid for through grant and tuition reimburstment if you find a way to get your foot in the door at a hospital befor you start your classes. Every just do your own research before making any decision because if I listened to everyone else I would know most of what they say is false infotrmation.

Ok that may be true but this is the MICHIGAN forum. The Everests in MICHIGAN do NOT offer RN and they are not accepted by the MICHIGAN board of nursing for RN. The Florida board of nursing may accept a degree from them as accredited so if you live in Florida, plan to attend Everest to get your RN, and plan to work as a RN in Florida you should be fine-- I have done no research on what's going on in Florida since I don't live there. I post information in this forum relevant to MI and what is true for this state.

Good Luck becoming a RN I hope you find a program you truly love and are happy with for years to come :loveya:

Sorrry about that. I thought they were all under the same accreditaion. Guess I was wrong. Thanks. :imbar

I'm sick of all their tv ads. During the day on stations that show talk and cop shows, they advertise during EVERY commercial break, sometimes more than once in the same break, WITHOUT EXCEPTION. Go out of business and die Everest College!!!!:bluecry1:
