I'm looking into the Everest institute LPN program in Southfield.. I called and they want you to attend an info meeting however, I will be out of town on the next two dates they are offering. Has anyone gone to one of these meetings? If so could you share any info on the program? TIA!!!
I like the program but there is alot of disorganization with the instuctors (What nursing program doesn't). Its an excellarated program, so there are people who are strugling. It seems like the people who have never been to college are the ones that are strugling. I do have to say it is really flying by. Honestly I would recomend it to anyone because its not hard to get into the program but just be ready for disorganization and pack your patients.
Hey Hopesgramcracker, Just wondering about the Financial Aid? I have a friend that's interested but she's worried if she doesnt do so good she wont be able to withdraw without losing money. Is the tuiton up front for the entire duration of the program or is it billed in quarter's? Also with NWLB is there a way to get them to pay the entire $10,000? I got you email, thanks for the compliment!
Hello, I have the no worker left behind and it does cover the 10,000. It is split up into 2 fiscal years. Most of the tuition is collected in the first level. I am not sure on what the procedure is if you withdraw, you may have to contact the financial aid dept. No one is in this week, we all are on vacation until Monday. I can ask what the policy is and post a reply on Monday. Hope this helps.
Everest seems so great because you dont have to wry about getting into a program. I am taking all these classes at occ and I am worried that i will get b's and not get accepted into lpn or rn programs. Micro, nutrition, and a n p are taking over my life and I am trying so hard to get 4.0s, but i dont know if i can do it:cry:. At everest, i wont have to worry about that.

Having a plan A, B, and C is a good route nowadays. I can say the one and only thing I dread most about being a nurse is sputum, spit anything that comes out a person's mouth. I work in the lab and often have to set up sputum specimens in microbiology...words just cant explain!! That's my weakness! I would hate for the patient to see the look on my face while I'm suctioning. lol! Other than that RT sounds like a wonderful program. It can be frustrating to have a desire to go to school to improve ourselves for the better only to be sitting on a waiting list because the field is in such high demand, I wish you the best! Always keep that backup! I wish I had one.
