Hello, It can be financed with the help of financial aid, scholarships that you may apply up until the last day of class, No Worker Left behind (I was told only up to $5,000 because the program is only 11 months) loans and payment plans.

I went to everest and there was no lpn program only MA or Pharm and I dont know if there trying to trick you but let me tell you its not worth it. The classes you taken wont be any good anywhere else So if yous sasing there an LPN program how are you going to get in a RN program when your classes dont transfeer.

Tammy30, did you go to the Dearborn location? The Southfield and Grand Rapids location do have the lpn program, I am in Southfields lpn program. As far as transfering, there are bridge programs elsewhere but you need your lpn license and you will need to have pre-requisites completed before you are accepted into a bridge program. Everest Southfield is putting together an lpn to rn bridge program for people who do not have pre-reqs but it won't be rolling for at least a year and a half. Everest's lpn program is an excellerated diploma program, so yes you are right, any classes in their lpn program will not transfer to any college, this location is not a college but a vocational school. And yes it is well worth it, I personally don't have 2 or 3 years to wait around to get into an RN program, and I do have all of my pre-reqs completed. When I graduate from Everest I plan on going to a bridge program while I am working as a nurse. Good luck to you.

How can you be working as a nurse when ull be a lpn when ur done bis differents between lpn and RN. ANd I went to the the Dearborn Location and was screwed i ended up in dept with 20,000 and got a job as a MA makeing 11.00 an hour which I was already already makeing 12 an hour as a nurses Assistant so I end maken less with the diploma.

So just make sure you have all the facts stright. And dont get screwed just telling you do your homework with information first.

Hi Tammy30, An LPN is still a NURSE, just not a registered one. I believe what Hopesgrahmcracker is trying to explain to you is she has done her research, and she has all the prereq's completed and has applied to many "Registered Nursing Programs" but I'm sure you know there is alot of competiton and many of us need a better income now, and cant afford to keep reapplying only to get turned down because we have a 3.8 Gpa and not a 4.0 Gpa! Sitting around waiting 2 or more years is a waste of time! When she finishes her LPN program through Everest she will already have RN prereq's done and will be working as a LPN, I've heard that it is much easier to get accepted into an LPN to RN bridge versus walking straight into an RN program. No, her classes and credits dont transfer but she doesnt need them to. She's using Everest as a stepping stone. On the other hand let's just imagine someone working as a Nursing Assistant making $12.00 an hour without any Nursing prereq's.....If admitted into Everest that person has the potential after one year of school to come out making a minimum of $23.00 an hour, that's more than a $10.00 hike! Who wouldnt go for that? Neither of us work for Everest so we're not endorsing the school, I dont even go to the school but were just trying to give some people out there another option who has gone through the same obtacles we have trying to get admitted into community colleges around here. Of course this program isnt for everyone so each person would have to research all their options and decide what's best for them! If I were to actually get accepted I would consider this one year LPN program a blessing! I wish you the best!

Any new info on Everest LPN program? :confused: I have taken both the Compass and the PSB, the drug test, interview and did the fingerprinting. Now how long do I wait to find out whether I was accepted? I really would like to know soon. I've been going to school for so long and I've applied to a few nursing programs that require you to have a 4.0 G.P.A. I have a 3.3. Everest is going to be the best thing for me, I'm tired of waiting and getting rejected. I know the program is very expensive but at this point I don't care. I look at it this way; some people invest 40,000 into buying cars so why not invest in your education. Any comments please reply back.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Hi, keep calling, thats what I did, I drove Sarah crazy. I don't think it will be a problem, if you got this far with the app process, I would not worry. I know easy to say, I worried too and come to find out there was nothing to worry about. Just keep calling daily to see if you are in. I feel the same way about the tuition, its better than some of my friends who said I was crazy for spending 30k on the program and those same people are still waiting for an "RN" program and now I have graduated already, working, and finishing my RN through excellsior. Did you apply for the Sept start date?

I am so glad that you responded. Of all the threads I read yours really stuck out. Yes, I applied for the September start date and I am so ready. Did you have any problems finding employment? I hear a lot of negativity but I've learned throughout life that you are in control of your own destiny. I don't have any problems with learning new things and making neccessary adjustments to get me where I need to be in life. I see hopesgramcracker that you are a very determined young lady. Thanks for all the positivity that you put on this site it really has helped me.:) Also , can you give a little insight on clinicals, test, and things of that nature? Thanks so much!!!!!

Thanks! I always tell people that you can get what you want out of any situation you just need to look for it. The tests are to the point and straight out of the books. So if you study there won't be a problem. Level one is a huge wake up call but level two and three are easy to handle. Don't get discouraged in level one just read from the book and count your pages from day one so you can pace yourself everyday for reading and highlight pertanent (sp) information. The clinicals can be alittle boring but it really depends on your clinical instructor/location and how comfortable he/she is on letting the group do certain procedures. Level two is where you will be doing a med surg rotation and that is when everything you learned is implemented. Between level two and level three the light bulb will turn on and everything will fall into place. As far as a job goes I was hired on the spot pretty much with where I am at now and it only took me a few days after I was licensed. I found out quickly that if you don't already work in a facility that uses LPN's, no one will even talk to you unless you have your license, so be patient when you graduate because it will take a month or two to get from a to z for licensing. It took us two and a half months for our group but our paper work to the testing company was delayed plus we graduated the busiest time of the year. Hope this helps you good luck! :hug:

Hopesgramcracker, if you don't mind me asking, whats the ball park figure salary on a new grad LPN where you got hired. Can you tell us what shift and location (Detroit, Suburbs, Nursing home, etc.) where you found a job please. Thanks, you give us all hope!
