Hello all,
I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.
Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?
I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.
And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??
Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
I am interested to know the class schedule. I am working full time and just finished my LVN program. I want to continue on to RN --- are the classes in Ontario campus during the day ? I read it in the CA nursing board that they have night and weekend classes. What about the clinicals, are those during the week too ?Thank you in advance for any idea you can share with me before I set up an appointment to see if this school will work with my work schedule.
Everythings during the day. The latest I've been out of class so far is 6. and clinicals are usually from around 6 to 3ish. First quarter youd still be able to do full time probably but once third quarter hits a lot of people stop working.
Hey Guys! I am new to this site but have been reading and following along for quite some time now. I just attended the information session in the beginning of August and have my test date coming up in September. Just wondering if there were any words of advice any of you can give me. I have been wanting to be a nurse forever and am willing to do whatever it takes to make this dream come true!
How does everyone who is in the program now like it?
And for the test, I already have a BS in Health Science, is the test hard, easy, medium- where should the focus be?
Any advice would be great!
Thanks!!!!

Hello,
My advice would be to get the first possible testing date you can do and to study your butt off. If you are able to get the Hesi book I strongly advise you to do so. The higher the score the better your chances of getting an interview. The difficulty of the HESI will depend on your own ability. It wasn't too hard for me but then again I've always been a whiz at math.
So far I'm really loving the program. The nursing teachers are extremely strict but have a good way of going about it. Good luck!!
How about a second BS in nursing or an EL-MSN with a public and accredited (WASC, not ACICS) school? Do you want a higher degree after the associate in nursing? If so, you will have a hard time getting it if you go to Everest.
This thread is for prospective students and students of Everest's nursing program. If you have something constructive to share that would be great. There's no need for you to make statements to deter prospective students away. Just to clarify, there are schools that will take Everest RNs for BSNs and MSNs without any issues.

My response was a constructive statement to a prospective student of Everest. I'm only relating what was told to me after I sat in for the sales pitch. I also wanted to get my nursing degree as quickly as possible and was willing to pay for it. Luckily I learned that several Cal State schools and a private grad school I was interested in wouldn't touch the degree with a ten foot pole before I was into it for the $30,000. That my friend, is constructive and if it inspires someone to dig deeper into their future goals and demand the full scoop from Everest regarding accreditation (WASC vs ACICS) and consult with admissions counselors from advanced programs, then they will have made an informed decision to deter their own enrollment from the program. I'm not that powerful.
