Everest College Ontario RN program

Published

Hello all,

I know there are already a couple of posts for this school, but reading through the threads I didn't get all the information that I was looking for and considering that they are pretty old threads I made a new one because I didn't think anyone would look at those anymore. I've already completed all my prereqs at a community college, but I don't want to wait around forever to get into the community college rn program.

Anyways, I wanted to find out for those who are already in the program or have the info. What kind of studying should I do for their entrance exam? What kind of stuff comes in the tests. I also would like to know the cost or estimated cost of the school. And how do they go about choosing the students for the program? What exactly is the application process?

I've already called the school, but the lady that answered the phone wasn't able to give me much info except for that info sessions are in August and the program starts up again in January.

And if you are already in the program, I would like to know how to do you find the teachers to be?? Would you say that this is a good academic choice??

Please help me as I live really far away from this school and I am moving out there just for the program. It is a little difficult for me to just drive over to visit the school. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

RN Program orientation is on July 15, Friday from 9:00a - 4:30p. I guess I will meet some of you here in person next week. This is actually my first try @ Everest. They told me I'm really lucky...

I just saw the email, can't wait to meet everyone!

I got the email yesterday too! Looking forward to meeting you all!!

Hi there, I have a co-worker who went through the RN program at ontario and has nothing negative to say about it. I wanted to know if anyone knew the start dates? I see that it's way to late to start in August. When is the next start date? Does anyone know if they have another campus, in CA, AZ, NV that has other start dates as well. I'm willing to relocate. Also, my co-worker said he got a sally mae loan, do they still allow this? Thanks!

i believe the application process for the January start date 2012 begins in august, the first step is going to the orientation and receiving a test date...i don't know of another campus in CA other than the Ontario one but i do think there's one in Arizona if you look on the website...im sure sally mae loans are still available but i recommend federal loans if you want deferred payments and low interest rates, GOOD LUCK!

Hi guys sorry for being gone so long. I was locked out of my account and their little method to get back in was just not nice to me. But it seems like you all got the answer about the orientation date through the email they sent us. I am very excited to meet all of you guys :-) I can't wait for Friday. I'm driving down from Riverside, hopefully I don't hit too much morning traffic.

Hey, I am in this class too. Does anyone have Tue/Wed Anatomy/ physiology?

Im im the tues weds A&P class 10-2 :)

Hi everyone, this is my first post on this site, but I have been lurking for a little while, reading through some of the threads here. I am planning on attending an information session at Everest this coming Tuesday. I've also gone through some of the process at West Coast University for their BSN program, but with the high cost of tuition I am exploring other options. I am meeting with the Financial Aid office at WCU tomorrow, but the more I think about the costs the more nervous I get about that particular program.

I did take a HESI Entrance exam at WCU, I'm not sure if they're all the same or not? I did very well on the exam but was only tested on Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Vocabulary and Math. Does anyone know if that will transfer over to Everest?

I am not really sure what I should do, to be honest -- it seems like chances of getting into Everest on the first try are slim (at least from reading through posts here). I'm guessing that is because they only accept students twice a year. Even if I manage to get accepted classes do not start until January? If I were to go the route of WCU they have classes starting on the 29th of Aug, and then the next session after that starts in November -- and they still have seats available for the Aug start date. So I could get started much sooner -- and potentially have my BSN by the time I'd get ADN from Everest if I can't get in on the first try.

But then there's the hefty costs of tuition -- and I start thinking about how awful it would be if I'm not able to find a job right after graduation, how would I manage to start paying back those loans?

And then sometimes I think, maybe I should just stick with what I've got instead of putting myself further into debt to take a chance on a career change?

Sorry for the long post, I'm just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat considering the same (or similar) options?

Hey everyone! I was wondering from the people who started out in this thread and got in, how are you liking it so far? How is it going for you all??

So far I'm in my third quarter, fundamentals. I have to say so far I am very pleased with the nursing instructors. Today was my first official day of clinicals! It was good, and I'm really excited to get into the good stuff now :)

awww. So should I be kicking myself for not going through with it??

i know what you mean,

i had made it to financial aid in january, freaked out about the money, and decided to wait on the rollover list. the whole time since i regretted not just going for it. so as soon as i got the call from everest i went in right away and finished the process for the july start date. i am now in my first quarter and very happy that i started. i can't wait until january when the clinicals start. i keep thinking if i had started last january, i would be now beginning the clinical portion of the program.

i would recommend emt anderson, that if you are still on the rollover list, to call and talk to the nursing department and start the process for the january 2012 class. if you did not rollover, they are having info session this month and you can start the process again. i used my time this spring and completed 2 classes to transfer to everest, psychology 100 and sociology 100. that decreased my cost. i transferred 6 classes in total, so that helps. they also have a very good loan program, so if you make it that far ask about it.
