Thanks. Best of luck on the NCLEX... Please hurry into the profession! we're drowning here!! :)

Well aren't you leaving the profession soon anyway:) So where are you working? LTC or hospital? I'll be starting in July at an acute care hospital. I am scared to death!!I hope I can make it. The NCLEX isn't really bothering me....it's the process of studying for it!! Oh well....did you watch American Idol tonight? Diana was good, but I love Fantasia. I need a life:)

I won't be leaving for at least 4 years--longer if I don't find satisfactory employment in the legal profession. I was pre-law in college before even thinking about nursing. I went back for my RN after having my daughter. I love it but the Law is so fascinating. As a nurse, I advocate for patients. As an attorney, I want to advocate for nurses.

Did you take a prep course? My school offered one and it was great. Ours was run by Mosby's, and we took a practice test and got a summary of our scores- areas to work on, percentage of those who got your score that went on to pass the NCLEX ( so you knew how you were doing). It was a good confidence booster.

I liked both Fantasia and Diana... I thought she nailed "Don't Cry Out Loud," but I didn't see the first time she sang that song. Fantasia stole the show though.

You're right about Fantasia. Awesome performance!

In school, we took a computerized timed practice NCLEX. I passed but barely. It showed that I rushed too much and that my weakest portion was in OB. I really don't like OB. Everything seemed so gray, whereas in Med Surg, everything is Black and White and clear cut. Actually, I will be attending a NCLEX review course at Capital next week. They use Saunder's Review. I already have Mosby's NClex review book. Someone here told me to look at NSNA's review book and Kaplan's. I guess for the month of June, I'll be sitting in the library buried in review books  I can't wait , yeah right...

Okay, well tell me how UCoNN law school is. I graduated from Storrs and I loved it. Too bad I wasted so much time parting  I know you won't make the same mistake, kidding....:)

OB was my worst area too. I did very well on my practice exam (99th percentile) but it did nothing to quell my nerves on exam day. I brought a roll of TUMS with me on the day of the exam. Just remember: "Barely passing" is still passing. In fact, there really is no such thing the way that the test is structured. You aren't "graded". As soon as you answer enough questions to demonstrate competence, the test quits and you are redirected to a survey.

I went to UConn undergrad, too. And yes, I did party a little too much. During my Freshman year, Playboy had ranked us the #6 party school in the country. I felt it was my duty to do my part to move us upward in the ranks:) . School spirit, ya know.Managed to graduate with a 3.0, but my first semester there I got a 2.4. Yikes!! I did graduate nursing school with a 3.7 a few years later when I had matured and was paying for my own tuition. I never would have gotten into UConn Law if not for the grades that I got in nursing school. Best of luck to you. You will do fine!
