I guess there's always gotta be one in every class, you know they type that can't resist saying..."well I work at such-n-such place and we do it this way...." ON EVERY TOPIC!!! or ask 20 questions where all the answers from the teacher are "yes" because it's some elementary ? that they are just asking to let everyone know they already know something. Im gonna start bringing water balloons to class and throwing 'em at people who can't SHUT UP!!! :chuckle
oh and btw....can y'all quit tappin and clickin your pens!!!!! :angthts:
feel free to add your frustrations, and what should be done with these people!
First of all I don't even know who this person is. There are 104 of us, this was the first day of classes almost 1 month ago. I don't even know who was writing descriptions a friend of mine that wasn't even sitting anywhere near me told me about that. And to be honest if it was the girl I was sitting next to whom I've known for a while I'd probably tease her too. I'm a very sarcastic person and I don't say things to hurt others feelings. To STCCNursing I have written a PM apology as well as in this post. I was hardly ragging on her. I made a stupid post that wasn't out to hurt anyone's feelings and I'd like to think that her and I can discuss this through emails/PM's between the 2 of us. It's really no one else's business. I'm not a mean person, in fact as an experienced CMA I've been doing nothing but trying to help those without the experience. There are a lot of personalities in this world and some don't always mesh, my comment was never meant to be hurtful (I'm sorry that is was) it was my way of blowing off steam after the first day. I wish her nothing but the best and hope that we can become friends.
Teasing someone you know is different than "teasing" a stranger for the record. I didn't intend for people to come down on you about coming down on me but maybe you can understand a little how I felt hurt by your simple comment. It drummed up a bunch of posts along the lines of "I had one of those in my class" One of those?? What is one of those exactly? not sure but I don't think it is something I want to be. I know you didn't write all of those other things but your post kind of got the ball rolling and since it was about me to start off, yes it made me more mad and hurt than if nobody had jumped on the band wagon so to speak about bashing annoying classmates. SO I annoyed you by asking questions, then your friend told you I was writing down things in my notebook that sounded weird to you and you were stressed about nursing school so you took to the net to vent, oops the person you wrote about saw it, you said sorry, and actually feel sorry, it is done and over with as far as I am concerned. I think this topic has been explored enough I can't send PM's or whatever those are and I am sure that you are a very nice person and if the chance arose we could be friends- we're all imperfect!
I can tolerate the questions... even if it is the same question over and over and over... sometimes, people just don't understand.
What makes me scream "shut-up" inside my head is this: the students who don't allow the Professor to complete a thought before they interrupt them with a question. The poor Professor gets halfway through... and you hear the voice: "Professor?" OMG - shut up!!!
LOL - seriously though... b/c we've all done it... I've found that if you just wait a few minutes... the concepts become clear. Just let the Professor finish... then, if you are still confused - ask your question.
It's not -every- person that asks questions. It's the people that are annoying about it. Like the one that asks questions that would have been easily answered had they actually taken the plastic off their book and read the assigned chapters before lecture.
Or the person that asks a "statement" question that he/she already knows the answer to....to prove that they know something.
Example: So WBC are increased when there is an infection? Seriously like seconds later, someone else will ask a similar question, and instead of letting the professor answer, statement question person will interject with a 10 minute explanation. (Obviously proving they already knew the answer to the first "question" they asked)
It's really pathetic attention-seeking behavior and it's rude and disruptive to the rest of the class.
I'm all for genuine questions. Learning is what we're all there for. But when there is 1 person that continually goes off topic or doesn't bother to read the material but then wants half the lecture as a personal tutoring session, then the rest of us that actually DO the assignments are not getting our money's worth and putting ourselves at risk of not getting information needed to pass boards.

Becky,
I do know who you are by sight but I don't want things to be awkward. This has been a rough week and I probably over reacted. Your post made it sound like you were talking about one person, the one you wanted to tell to shut up and that your friend saw write stuff. Either way, we all say things that we regret or wish someone didn't hear. I just am not one for drama. I am a nice persona nd would help anyone that needed it so it bums me out. I just wanted you to know that it hurt my feelings and it means alot that you are saying sorry. There will be no hard feelings on my part! Good luck at clinical next week
