Hello! I am applied for Everett community colleges winter start cohort. I just wanted to start a thread where others who are also applied can share stories/grades/if they get in! I had an A- cell B- anatomy A- physiology and am in Micro now with a B. The deadline was october 15 for winter and now I am playing the waiting game to see if I get in. Anyone else applied/heard anything back yet? I wish I could find out now if I was accepted or not!

I applied for entrance into the Winter class as well. The coordinator, Wendy, said it will take 6 to 8 weeks to hear back. She said not to expect to hear anything until after Thanksgiving. (If all they really consider is Science GPA, I wonder what takes so long?)
I was wondering the same thing! If they just pick the top GPA why should it take so long? Oh well, I guess I will continue to cross my fingers and wait, Good luck :)
Skagit is not accepting a Winter class this year, so they probably received even more apps than normal. Let me know if you hear anything & I will do the same. It's nice to know that someone else out there is also playing the waiting game. :) Good luck to you as well!
Thanks :) My sister and I are both applied for Everett this quarter, I'll keep you posted as we hear more. That sucks about the Skagit thing, I was hoping this would be the "easy" applicant quarter. I heard from my sis who applied for fall and didn't make it that Fall had a record high of applicants, yikes!
I got a letter in the mail today stating that my application is currently being considered. It said they are starting up a part time, 10-quarter program this Winter 2012 as well ... and they are offering me the chance to switch my app for that program instead. Did you or your sister get that letter? I just got the letter in today's mail and it says I have to decide by tomorrow at 3 pm.
There was hardly any info offered about this part time program, except that it will end Spring 2014. So if its 10 quarters long, it must run through the summer as well?
Hey! I just got home from class, checked my mail and was just gonna log on here to tell you about the letter. Yes, I got that letter and it was not descriptive. It says pending approval it would start winter 2012 - ok so if I switch to apply for night and then it doesnt get approved am I stuck just having to apply again next quarter? I am irked at the hey, here's half a day notice deal but I am going to still look into it. I have heard through the grapevine that it would be 3pm-7pm M-F and yes, through summer quarter as well. To me while evenings would allow me to keep my job through school (lord and the bank knows I need money from somewhere) I also am in a hurry to get it all over with and not kill myself with 40 hour work weeks and 20 hour school weeks if you know what I mean. I am going to call in tomorrow on lunch and see what details I can weasle out of the program coordinator. My sister when I called had not got the letter but hadn't checked her mail yet and I didn't check mine yesterday so thought maybe it came then. I will keep you posted on what I find out from talking to the office in the morning.
Hey, I'm glad you got the letter too! It just seems weird that they haven't given us any info and they want us to decide right away. Do you think everyone that applied for Winter quarter got this letter? How can they ask people to throw away their chances of getting into the full-time program to apply for a part-time program that isn't even approved yet? It all seems iffy.
Do please let me know what you find out! Thanks!!!
I called and left a voicemail and sent an email requesting more info and a callback so I will wait until after lunch and try calling again. Last night I felt like the full time normal one for sure but there's all the what it's involved with the part time one. Are the chances going to be better getting into that night one, will it even get approved? *sigh* I'll keep you posted as the day goes. If I decide to switch to the night one then I will have to leave work early so I am really hoping I can get a hold of someone and get some answers before its too late!
My sister works in everett and is going to go in to the office and get some answers for us. I should know more a little after 11. ttyl
ok so my sister just called me and Wendy wouldn't say how many people have switched to nights and just kind of said yes chances would be better to get in since less people apply for nights. Also if you change to nights and then it doesnt go through then we would get put back into the day applicant pool. I am confused on what I want to do and am going to talk it over with the man and my sis is going to do the same.
Thanks for all the info, I appreciate it! I called her as well ... I wanted to know if it was possible to transfer into the full time program later down the line if you were accepted into the part time program. No chance on that one it sounds like. She said there is currently a part time program cohort right now that started last Winter quarter. And everytime they start a new cohort, it has to get approved again. She said they are accepting 25 part time students and 32 full time students this quarter. (But she wouldn't say how many applications they got in total.)
Decisions! Decisions! Good luck with your's!
Hi yunalesca147, What did you end up deciding? I couldn't get to the office by 3pm yesterday, so I let that make my decision for me to keep my app with the full-time program.
