Do any of you mind sharing how much your base pay per hour is? I just got a new job, and I feel that my rate is less than I should be making in Pennsylvania. I mentioned my two years experience to the recruiter and she said that I would be making $1 more an hour for evenings and also for taking charge. She also said that I would be getting annual raises, so my rate should go up soon. What do you all make in your state?

Michigan

weekend cadre (with full benefits) in MI make six figures, with a lil bit of overtime. We work 3 twelve hour shifts Fri-Sun anything else is gravy. With shift we are over $47 an hour...and cost of living here is low....

what state are you in?

Bay Area, CA ER new grad: AMs - $46.06, PMs - $50.67, Nights $52.97. this is an entry level RN1 salary at my hospital. I'm shocked to see that the rates and wages are so much less around the country!

Specializes in 1 PACU,11 ICU, 9 ER.

Wow, I need to move and join all the crazy people in CA!

Specializes in Cardio-Pulmonary; Med-Surg; Private Duty.

Keep in mind that the cost of living in CA is WAY EXTREME compared to most of the country. My house that would cost $125,000 in Michigan would be worth $500,000 or more in CA. A two-bedroom apartment is typically $1,000+ per month.

Base pay means nothing if you don't also consider the cost of living for that region!

As a new grad RN in Chicago- 28.00 plus 3.00 night differential and 3.00 weekend differential (34.00/hr).
