Do any of you mind sharing how much your base pay per hour is? I just got a new job, and I feel that my rate is less than I should be making in Pennsylvania. I mentioned my two years experience to the recruiter and she said that I would be making $1 more an hour for evenings and also for taking charge. She also said that I would be getting annual raises, so my rate should go up soon. What do you all make in your state?
I have just over two years experience inthe ER. I started at 22/hr with 2.50 differential for PM's I work 11a to 11p. Within the last two years though I have recieved $6 in raises towards my base pay. The benefits aren't all that great though and they change them every year- such a hassle. We also don't get any "critical care" differential like the ICU does....what is that about????
In Albquerque new GN starts off at approx $20 hr. Weekend night diff is $8. Night diff during week in $5 hr. Weekend day diff is $3 hr. Relief charge is $1 hr. Permanent charge is 10% pay raise. Clinical ladder is $1hr for level 1 and $3 hr for level 2 and $6 hr for level 3.
Which company do you work for? Just curious since I'm starting nursing school in June at UNM.
It all depends on the hospital, too. In Alabama, I worked at one hospital that paid new grad $17.25 base. $4.00 shift diff for nocs. No diffs for bachelor's degree or certs.
Another I work at pays $18.03 base plus $1.00 for bachelor's plus $2.00/hr shift diffs for evening (3p-11p - you get the diff if you work 3p-7p on a day shift as well) and $3.00/hr shift diff for nocs. They also pay extra for certs - one for ACLS and another for any national (i.e. TNCC) cert.
A friend will graduate this year and will start out making $28/hr working Baylor weekends.
$ 20.00 hr . I feel sometimes that each and every person that we see, there life is somewhat in our hands, We put IV's in and add different medications into their systems we give them pills and usally have 6-8 patients in a ED ( fast paced, highly stressed enviroment) I have a brother that works on tec support for computers ( saves them) and gets paid 8$ more that myself. Same Associates degree just different jobs, my kids school bus driver gets 3$ more tan me. Just don't understand.
yeah, but their jobs suck.... :chuckle

Although at times Bostonians can view things differently. And you will need to learn that a jonnie is a patient gown and a bubbler is a water foutain. At a MNA hospital nurses >20 years 42.00 plus 6.00 hours shift diff. If you are the RR Nurse it is an extra 10.00 hour and then there are the extra weekend differentials
and if you work any over your weekend commitment it's an additional 7.00 bonus. YOu are never more than 30 imin from any beach not more that 1 hour to sku in the winter and 3 hours to party in New york for a play on broadway.....that's why I stay...that and the 50.00 dollars and hour staff pay!
