Endentoulus??? Can someone help me with my concept map?

Published

Can someone please help me come up with some ideas for a concept map? The title my professor gave me is Endentoulus. This will be my 1st concept map and I want to make sure that I do it right.

You will find it helpful when you begin your online searches if you spell it correctly: "edentulous," means "without teeth."

What does that make you think about?

A patient with edentulous may have a problem with chewing and swallowing foods. I have to use 2 nursing diagnosis and I'm not sure which ones to use. Also, I'm not sure how to come up with more signs and symptoms. I searched the Internet and the only thing that keeps popping up is info about dentures.

Greetings, here4u! Maybe try Impaired Dentition related to ineffective oral hygiene or Impaired Dentition related to deficient knowledge regarding dental health. The other diagnosis could possibly be an "at risk for" type of diagnosis related to a nutritional deficit. Good luck with your concept map!

Post edit: Another one could be Impaired Oral Mucous Membrane related to loss of supportive structures or Risk for Aspiration

Thanks!!! Now I need to try to fit all of this on 1 page.
