Emory New Grad Residency Summer 2020

Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd start a thread for everyone applying to the 2020 residency program. I applied last week, I'm interested in Critical Care, and I graduate in May of 2020 with my BSN! Wishing you all the best of luck!

Mine also says under department consideration and it was last updated 1/17. Hopefully we hear something soon!

Hopefully someone answers this, I graduate in August. Should I be applying for the summer 2020 cohort? I probably won’t sit for NCLEX until October. I emailed two people from HR and still haven’t heard anything back.

I’m not sure. According to their website, they have positions for new grads throughout the year and have 3 large hiring events. I’d probably say not this time around, because the summer cohort probably will start before October (or maybe Emory is willing to let you start after graduation and work with a GN permit until you’re able to take your NCLEX). It does seem like if you aren’t able to apply for the summer, you can apply for a job with them at any of their facilities because they have positions for new grads.

I’d try calling HR on Monday to confirm what you should do.

Sooo has anyone had their status changed from under department consideration or spoken to someone from Emory about when interviews should be starting...

my status is still "under department consideration" - unchanged from 1/17. I kind of have my heart set on Piedmont Atl, so I haven't really pushed for Emory (haven't contacted any recruiters or anything).

Hello everyone,

My status is "under department consideration" as well since 1/27. I'm hoping to hear back soon. I am from South Florida looking to relocate. Is anyone familiar with Northside Hospitals? The nursing recruiters were at my university and It sound like a really great place to start.

Yes! I think Northside is great, and I hear their residency program is awesome. I have also applied to Northside Atlanta.
