Emory Nursing Students!!!!

Hey everyone,

I have applied to the NHWSoN begining Fall 2010. I submited my application packet the first week of September. I am already CrAzY with anxiety. When did you folks here that you were accepted. How soon after you applied?

I met with an advisor last month and she said I should have no problem getting in. I am an Emory employee. I have been a Nurse Tech for ten years (not all at Emory). The 3 letters of recommendation were from: my A&P teacher, another teacher of health sciences, and my boss who is MSN, RN, FNP-C.

I have always wanted to be an Emory Nurse!!!!! Hopefully my dream will come true soon!!!!

Please let me know when you applied to the program and when you got your accpt. letter........jasonwalkeratl

yeah they told me this week too if your file is complete it would be forwarded to the advisors and then from there to the student. I hope they hurry up and let us all know soon.

Thank you! My EFC was really high, so I hope to get aid money as well! Classifying as a dependent is not that great for aid purposes. I've been done with my pre reqs since last December! Been waiting for a response from here and Mercer. I was lucky to get accepted into both, but really want to come here.

Hey guys...just checked my emory email account... awards should be posted on OPUS this coming Friday!!

Thank you for posting the info! I'm turning into an Opus nut checking it all the time and always....nothing!

Looks like awards are up.... Hope it went well for everyone.

yes i just checked mine and i am very happy with what i received :) hope everyone else is too :)

I am really happy too! Looks like I will be able to attend. Does anyone know what kind of PDA we need. My contract is up and I want to get something that I can use...

i heard that any smart phone would work too... like the iphone or blackberry. i am planning on getting a blackberry.

Hi y'all

I am in the 2009 class. We just finished our finals yesterday and are somewhat "seniors" now. I used the blackberry curve but most of my colleagues used the iphone. I say was because my blackberry broke. However, any of the two would be great. I always felt that my mates using the iphone had more applications but whichever works would do.

Once again, I would say don't buy all the books on the list they sent. You would get seniors selling it for cheap a few weeks before school reopens. Or when you all get put on SON LISTSERVE email, you can substitute the juniors part of the email address and put seniors and send the list of books you are looking for. That email address automatically goes to all the seniors just as if you put juniors in the listserve address, the email goes to all the juniors.

You would have seniors replying to you sooner or later.

Congrats to you all!

Thanks for the great info. I am thinking about the droid or another HTC. Congrats on making it through the first year! How did it go? Anything we should know? Are you happy you chose to attend Emory? Where are your clincials? omg sorry for all the questions!

Ok, for those of you looking to live around campus, i am looking for a room mate, I live 7 minutes away from campus and take the free shuttle to SON every day so I don't need to pay that $654 for parking. If interested pm me so we can discuss it further.

Hi,

I'm not 100% sure but you may not want to purchase a phone that the applications may not load on. The driod is new and may not work with the downloads. The i-touch, black berry, or i-phone worked well for our class. It's just a little advice before you buy something you many not be able to use.
