Emory Accelerated BSN/MSN Program (Summer 2010) - Anyone Else Accepted?

Published

Hi - I was recently accepted to Emory's Accelerated BSN/MSN Program for Summer 2010. Has anyone else been accepted?

For anyone is still in school:

I found my physical is free at the student health center, because I pay the student health fee at my school. I called the school and all they require is a standard physical form, filled out Emory immunization form, and the two step TB test (not covered by student health).

Has anyone received any e-mail's from the program or school to the owa.emory.edu/owa e-mail address? I check it everyday as we were advised but I haven't had anything to read yet!

nothing here yet! Did anyone else apply for the fuld fellowship? And if so, have you heard anything?

They aren't doing any scholarships or financial aid until deposits are due according the financial aid director (?) at the open house.

They are supposed to start sending information about stuff this week, because they only want to send that information after they know is actually attending (at least that is what one of the adviser said, but she was the same one who talked about the email).

I'm anxiously awaiting info too. The no emails is driving me crazy, because they told us to start checking. I really want to know if what our chances of getting a scholarship of any kind is. I also want to get as much as I can done before exams and then have a week before school to work on last minute stuff.

Hi just wondering when deposits are due? I was accepted onto the wait list and would really like a rough estimate of when I can hope to hear some news. (I emailed Emory directly, but haven't heard back yet.) I am anticipating it will be a really quick turn around for me if I end up going to Emory including moving from CA. Eeek!

Thanks!

Deposit are due today for the absn/msn program.

oh wow! thanks for the info.

I was wondering if anyone would join a facebook group if I created one. It would give us a way to easily divide up topics like housing, books, forms, financial aid, and other stuff rather than have one very long thread. Anyone could post questions or information they find on the threads. It would also allow people to friend each other and chat. I'll create one if anyone else is interested. The title would be "Emory ABSN/MSN 2010"

Yes, that would be nice (:

Okay. I added nursing to name so it would come up when people searched "emory nursing".

Hey all Emory ABSN accepted people!

Congrats. I am thinking of applying. Since their website says they target people with an unrelated bachelors degree for this program, what are your unrelated bachelors?

Also, I have to take the prereq courses from a community college as Emory College won't accept people for undergrad who hold a bachelors.

Also, where did you take your prereq courses??

Thank you -

My degree will be a B.S. in Biology. As long as you don't have a B.S.N. and complete the pre-reqs, it doesn't matter. I took my pre-reqs at Georgia State (for classes not offered at GT) and Georgia Tech (as part of my degree). I also applied as a transient to West Ga as a backup to Georgia State. Basically anywhere with the classes you need will work. I did like taking my A&P classes at Georgia State, because the other students in the classes were going to nursing school too. It really help to tailor the classes as a pre-req to nursing, physical therapy, and nutrition students. It would probably be a good idea to take your pre-req somewhere that has a nursing program or prepares students to go to nursing schools. Good luck
