Hi - I was recently accepted to Emory's Accelerated BSN/MSN Program for Summer 2010. Has anyone else been accepted?
Congrats ea102!
I went to Emory and have lived in the area since. The N. Druid Hills area has lots of apartments. The homes around Clifton Road usually have apartments/rooms for rent. There are also apartments and apartments within homes for rent in the Highlands/Brookhaven. All are safe areas, close to the school.
I GOT IN!! I'm in the ER FNP program and can't wait to start!! I live in the Virginia Highlands, which is an awesome area. Neighborhood-sy feel with a bunch of shops, restaurants, and bars. I live on the south side and will probably move north a little bit to be a touch closer to campus. Decatur is also a great area a little closer Emory with a wonderful downtown area. Morningside and N. Druid Hills are also areas to consider.
Can't wait to see yall at the open house! :)
My parents live in Alabama, so sadly they won't be coming... has anyone received any more info? All I got in the mail was my acceptance letter and the paper to make the 250 dollar deposit. I really want to know what our class schedule is going to be. And what about the PDA requirement I've heard rumors about on other message boards...any info?
At the info sessions last spring younger prospective students (under about 25 years old) brought their parents, and older prospective students brought spouses. Especially if you parents are helping to support you, I think it is okay to bring parents. Katie Kennedy has been really great about answering questions if you email her. I wanted to bring mine but they don't have time.
No info on the PDA requirements. I did find the recommended computer requirements for Emory departments if you have to buy a new computer any time soon.

Last time I asked, they had not set the dates for orientation yet but said they should know soon. It will probably be in May but hopefully they will tell us at the info sessions for those of us who have May exams.
If anyone is looking for a roommate, let me know so we can be sure to meet at the info session. I want to have a roommate to help decrease the rent costs in Atlanta and feel better not living alone.
One bedroom apartments are much more costly per room ($800) than getting an apartment with two or more bedrooms and sharing a kitchen ($1000 total or $500 a person). I am looking at apartment complexes within walking distance to Emory that are not targeted to undergraduates who like to party.
Me:
female, non-smoking, quiet, night person, do have an out of state boyfriend who likes to visit once or twice a month on the weekend, lived in ATL for four years (at Ga Tech)
