EMORY ABSN+MSN 2018

So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2018. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?

So how are they giving people a fair chance if they aren't checking of pre reqs when transcripts arrive? I will call tomorrow and ask. I wonder if people who have been determined as accepted the ones that get their stuff checked off. I'm sure they have already made a decision about who will be accepted.

I hope you get a nice aid package and try to milk them for more. This program is very expensive so idt I would go if I were to be accepted.

Looking at last year, it seems like it is possible to leverage financial aid packages received from other schools to get Emory to give more aid. I intend to do that if I do not receive "enough" aid. Good luck to everyone!

My best friend is has been an undergrad student at emory since 2015. She has reduced her cost to $4000 a semester just from bugging financial aid. She told me that the financial aid office knows her by name and the mood in the room changes when she comes in because they know she's about to grate them for more money LOL. I'm more worried about the undergrad tuition of the AMSN program. With the MSN portion, I could take out federal loans as well as be a TA, but the BSN isn't cheap.

Either tomorrow or the day after (Tuesday) because of the holiday.

But I'm not holding my breath... there were 2 other deadlines for finaid that they didn't meet.

Does anyone know if we will receive an email tomorrow with the decision or if it will be on OPUS/status check? I get off work tomorrow at 5PM and will be zooming home to check if it's not an email, lol. Good luck to everyone waiting for a decision tomorrow!

I doubt it'll be at 5pm (as in, they'll probably be late) so no worries! But, I totally understand where you're coming from and I'm going to be checking my email and OPUS all day as usual with these things... haha :)
