EMORY ABSN+MSN 2018

Published

So I decided to start a thread for the Fall 2018. Any current/prospective student on here? What GPA did you have when you applied and how competitive is the selection process? If you don't mind sharing your work experience and GRE score, that will be awesome. For those who are enrolled, do you mind sharing your experience?

It's pretty high...$173,200!

ABSN= $21,500 per semester x 4 semesters = $86,000

AMSN= $21,800 per semester x 4 semesters = $87,200

Figures were found here: Tuition | Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing | University | Atlanta GA

How in the world are we going to pay for this? I don't mean loans but seriously what are we going to do?

I was thinking the same thing.. Sure loans is an option but who wants 200 k of loans after graduation? That's an easy 10 years to pay off!!

Ya, I feel the same way! I started this thread (https://allnurses.com/advanced-practice-nursing/how-much-do-1131065.html), and I feel like a more realistic starting salary for someone (like me) with no RN experience may be closer to the $80-85k range in GA. That's a fine salary but not sure if I could really justify over $170k....especially when that costs more then some med schools!

It's more than the cost of med school, dental school, pharmacy school, and pa school. I feel like that they are taking advantage of our situation

Well Emory is ranked #4 nationwide for nursing! So that doesn't surprise me...Penn is ranked #1 and their tuition is even more expensive! Granted you'll be making at least 100k the first year though

Haha well there's clearly a market otherwise we all wouldn't have applied in addition to the thousands of other applicants! That amount of debt does put a little knot in my stomach though, and anything can happen with expected salaries.

Not necessarily

Is there any scholarship available we can apply for?

Hmm I don't think they're taking advantage. It's just the reality of how much tuition costs. Schools are businesses. Even if you decline, I'm sure there are hundreds of applicants who would want your spot. And the competition gets worse every year.

I could not find the FB group when I searched.

Thank you for starting the thread and congrats to everyone that have been accepted. Looking forward to meeting all of you

Congrats on everyone who got in.

Would yall mind sharing yall gpa's? I am taking my prereqs now and would like to apply.
