Emory ABSN Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! I noticed there isn't a thread for Emory's ABSN for Fall 2020, so I figured I would start one. The priority decision releases are supposed to be sent out today. Has anyone heard anything?

Does anyone mind reading over my personal statement and giving me some feedback?

Did anyone else get the email about the MN? Thoughts?

I got the MN email as well. Does anyone know what the benefits of the MN over the ABSN would be? The website was very vague

Ok I actually just called them and the benefits are: it’s a grad level program so there are more scholarship/loan opportunities and it’s continuous (Fall, spring, summer, fall) unlike the ABSN which was just changed to fall spring fall spring.
Other than that it’s pretty much the exact same program with the same faculty and tuition, there is a slight difference in the curriculum. The MN has “a few” higher level grad-type courses with an emphasis on nurse-leadership that the ABSN doesn’t have.
Both prepare us to take the NCLEX, work as nurses, or continue on to an advance practice degree.

Hey! So they actually spoke a lot about this at the accepted students day. Most ABSN programs are looking to shift towards this type of program (and soon retiring the ABSN). As an MN, you’re able to use graduate school funding for aid which has a much higher limit and the leadership courses added to the core will help post residency. Everyone in a given hospital gets the same amount going through their residency, but with the leadership focused MN as your RN education base, you’re more likely to move up the ranks sooner/get salary increasing positions. Do you guys have any specific questions? If they covered it there I’ll answer to the best of my ability

So I was at accepted students day and the one thing I’ll say is that the program director said the ABSN will still follow the fall spring summer fall schedule and that link showing may 2022 grad for ABSN is inaccurate.

Hi all! I applied to the program on January 16th, right before the final final regular decision deadline. I haven't heard anything back from Emory at all except a couple of financial aid emails. I'm a bit concerned because I submitted a resume, personal statement, official transcripts, and the prerequisite checklist, but all of my prerequisites are still red x's, and it still says I am missing my proof of degree completion. I'm thinking maybe it's because my TEAS is getting sent to them on Monday? But regardless, nothing else has been updated in almost a month. Quietly freaking out over here, so if anyone has any advice, I'm all ears!! Thanks in advance!

Just wanted to say I got off the wait list this morning!!! Super super excited. Definitely recommend signing up for a tour and then visiting the admissions office with some questions!! I did that yesterday and then got the acceptance this morning! Best of luck

I got accepted too! Really want to go, but it's so pricey, especially compared to my state school. Any opinions on if the high price is worth the education? I eventually want to go back to school for either NP or CRNA, so not sure if where I got my BSN affect that.

Hey guys! Congrats to everyone who has been accepted already. I got waitlisted back on January 17th. I don’t graduate undergrad until May 2020, so my final grades haven’t been received by Emory’s SON, yet I was wondering what else could I do to better my chances of being accepted. I already emailed them asking if I could send some recommendations, so those are pending. Thank y’all.
