Emory ABSN Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Hey guys! I noticed there isn't a thread for Emory's ABSN for Fall 2020, so I figured I would start one. The priority decision releases are supposed to be sent out today. Has anyone heard anything?

Does anyone know about when we will hear about scholarships?

I was told we would hear about scholarships by February.

@amberxoxo Nope, I would like to know, too. I was comparing tuition rates with a few other accelerated programs and noticed that Emory U costs twice as much....

Does anyone know why that is?

It’s super expensive, but comparable to other private programs. Northeastern is $90,000 as well. It’s private and has an excellent reputation. However, I’ve heard they give tons of scholarships so it’s possible that after it’s all said and done tuition will be in the same ballpark as other ABSN programs.

Does anyone know how much they usually give? I got into a school that is roughly the same per semester, but it is three semesters instead of four. I'm not sure how to decide if Emory is worth it.

Did anyone apply for regular decision deadline 12/1/19?? Has anyone heard back??

Would it be too late for me to submit my application right now?

As far as I can tell from looking at their website, it seems as though they’ve set up a secondary regular decision round application that’s due on 1/17 if you haven’t applied yet!

Hey there! I applied to the ABSN emory program for Fall 2020, I got my decision on January 17th and they placed me on the waitlist. I'm not exactly sure what to do because Emory is my #1 option and I am currently taking prereqs (A&P1 and Microbio) and I think that might have something to do with it. Any tips on how to make a better impression and secure my spot?

P.S. I really appreciate that a forum like this exists

Hi I also received my decision on 17th and was accepted. I did not write the personal statement and I am still on my way to obtain my first BS degree. I did not finish my pre-reqs when I applied so maybe they are not that important? Based on what I had submitted, I think they valued GPA/GRE scores as well as experiences in research /internship/volunteering. My overall GPA is 3.9 and got V158/Q166/W4 on my GRE.

So, I would suggest to submit updated transcripts (With higher grades) and tell them more about your background as well as experiences you had that prepared you for this program.

Honestly, they're probably waiting to see how many accepted students accept/decline their offer of admission. I would just say be patient, kick butt in your last pre-reqs, and stay hopeful. Waitlist is great, just remind yourself that you still have a chance. Personally, I don't know which program I am accepting yet. Our deadline to submit a deposit is March 1st, so you have so much time yet to get moved to "admitted."

True! I'm grateful for being wait listed rather than rejected. I completed my B.S. in psychology and my Masters in Public Health and finally realized what I really want to do. So I'm just a little stressed about not being accepted, I've applied to different places but Emory is my #1 option.

Congratulations!! Those stats are higher than mine but I am confident with the prereqs that I am doing now will boost my GPA. Yeah I think I will be writing a personal statement as well.
