I am working on a presentation on myths and legend in the emergency. Any ideas of such or where I could find could documentation to back my saying??

If you are ready for the worst to happen it generally doesn't (concious sedation, cardiac patients), and never take down a drip if a patient doesn't need it any more- it goes straight to the floor with them, connected or not.

Never gloat about someone having "good veins." You will anger the IV gods.
If you speak the name of a "frequent flyer" that person will soon appear.That was one of our superstitions on the floor, I'm betting ER folks believe the same thing!

I actually had a co-worker clamp her hand over my mouth when I started to say the name of a particularly annoying FF. Wouldn't you know, within the hour, she showed up in triage.
