There is no time minimum! Lots of great education opportunities as well as networking. My friend that went when I was did last year was an RN for less than a year at the time. :)

DO NOT let being a new grad stand in the way of an opportunity like this. If you want to go to the conference and have the means to go, GO GO GO GO GO!!!!!

No one ever told me about the power of national conferences. Took years before I somehow decided on my own to check it out...and I so regretted all the years I had missed out on the education, inspiration, camaraderie, and mentoring. What you walk away with far outweighs the costs. For me, relationships built at past conferences led to professional opportunities that wouldn't have come along had I stayed in my own little comfort zone. Jump in! No time like the present!

Specializes in Critical Care, Emergency, Education, Informatics.

I paid for this one myself and not depending on the VA for funding. Got a great deal on a loft through AirBnB about 5 min from the venue. Looking forward to it. And it's only 8 hours away so I can drive.

GO! Start networking now, get exposed to new idea's and concepts. Get into the habit of attending conferences early.

I totally agree with this! As a student and new grad, I attended the trauma conference our local Level 1 Trauma Center put on every year - I learned SO much there that helped me in my practice, and trauma/ER isn't even my primary specialty!
