Hi. Is anyone here attending nursing school at El Paso Community College? I will be starting my first semester in January and am very excited! I've already purchased many of the text books and wanted to know if anyone else has? Any concerns or comments about attending the program? I'd love to hear from you!

Happy New Year!:yeah:

You see Jandra19, this is your year and everything will be great, ofcourse, this is the beginning of our journey.. I'm glad Pat called you! Regarding the official letters, they started mailing them out on Tuesday, so we should get them this week... Lemme knw when you get it :)

I received the letter today. I'm super exited and ready to start nursing school..:')

It's official now!! :yeah: I received it today too... See u on january, I'm so ready now!

Awesome! I received the official acceptance letter yesterday too  I'm so ready now!

Hello everyone, I received my acceptance letter for the RN program for Jan. 2012. I am so happy and relieved to be accepted. Though it was tough to accumulate the required points for ranking it can be done! The Accuplacer math section was difficult in my opinion and I would not recommend taking it until you have taken at least trigonometry. I did good on the algebra section combined with geometry but the trig was hard with only 20 questions, with a minimum of a 40 to pass. Congrats to those who were accepted and see you in January!

Hello everyone : ) I'm happy to be back and happy to read that some of you who ranked in June 2011 with me and didn't get in got in for January 2012...

Jandra19 !!!! I'm so happy for you congrats !!!!

I moved to Chicago because of my husbands job, but thank God we are moving back !!! Pat called me the first day I got to Chicago to ask if I was still interested I was speechless and very sad ; ( but now that I know I'm going back I will try again and God willing I can get in.

I have to work on my accuplacer, which I'm a bit nervous specially the math but i will get tutoring and i hope i make it. Congrats again to all of you.

I recently finished my LVN at anamarc college but I'm looking to do the bridge at epcc cause it's cheaper...for those who just got accepted how long did it take to rank?? (I already have my prereqs and I know about the LVN 6months experience)

I am starting my first semester at epcc this spring! I am hoping to rank in by fall of 2013.... HIGH HOPES! My question is, how difficult is it to rank into the nursing program? Approx how many student try to rank each semester? Due to the fact that I am not too good at math any teachers you would reccomend? I also worry because I work full time as a MA and I dio not plan on quitting my job, is it possible to work full time and go to school? I want this more than anything, I know it wont come easy but I just want to know what to expect! any answers will help! Thanks in advance :)

Finally going into the 4th semester in the programa.,, oh yeah, it's been hell, hell, hell. all i can say is study, study (if you have any time left) because they are gonna try to screw you up.. 2 strikes or 2 withdraws and you are out of the program...just to let you know where you getting into......

Hello All! I am about to rank for 2012 and I was wondering how the accuplacer is? what was your opinion about it and can you give me some tips on what to study for exactly? on the "lvn form" for EPCC it says "college math" is that what they are placing it upon or should i focus more on the college math? that confused me and now I don't know what to study for.

I love this site. I always get on but never sign up, until today!

Anyway, I also just moved to Ft Bliss in January 2012. I am an LVN trying to get into the fall program. I have read this entire thread but have a different situation for any transition folks out there. LVN-RN only takes one year! Transition ppl dont have to rank. We do have to take the accuplacer and yes, the math sucked! FOR TRANSITION STUDENTS, you only need a 40 on the college math portion - per the epcc counselors. I got a 43 after the third time, phew! I do have a 3.7 gpa. Acceptance is based on the gpa of the sciences and pharm etc. They take 20 students. The way the couneslor made it sound to me is that there were not that many lvn students who had applied at the time (about 2 months ago).

Acceptance letters go out June 19th.

I am an army wife and have an 11 month old and a 5 year old. My husband also deploys at the end of this year so I know I have a tough road ahead of me. When I did the LVN program I met some great friends that i studied with and together we all made it through. If anyone out there is starting this fall haller at me! Or better yet email me, as that goes straight to my phone and I do not get on here daily. [email protected]

Hello Elove10. You have to take college math. I think the hardest part for everyone is trig. Study SIN COS TAN. You will for sure have at least 2 questions pertaining to this. I had never taken a math class with this before (I got a little of course in high school :) ) so i had to teach myself and it took me 3 times to pass it. I did not have to rank though so I dont know about the 1200 scores.
