i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.

my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)

What's up with this psych rotation? Do you also have Terrell??????? We have Green Oaks X1 and Terrell X3. Is it Terrell the town? Is there any psych hospital? And how long does it take to drive there at 0500????????

We have Terrell and Green Oaks but I opted for Parkland for psych...I'm assuming you guys weren't offered Parkland?? I may not get my first choice so I may be going out to Terrell also...yes- carpooling is ideal to go out there.

We have Parkland for clinicals but not for psych. So what is your first choice for 4th semester? I am thinking about Parkland with Ms. Y or Baylor with Ms. M. Terrell comes with both of them.

How many days do y'all have psych? I thought psych was 3rd semester? Didn't y'all do something with psych this semester? Class w/o clinicals for it or what?

3rd semester we had only psych lecture and no psych clinicals. Everything is online, slow and boring. This is just my opinion though. I hope we can get at least an updated online psych class or a different psych instructor. 4th semester we are "lucky" enough to have both psych clinicals and lecture.

How many days do y'all have psych?

Mi'Shelle- some options have Psych 6 days for 8 hours each time, some have 4 days for 12 hours each time, and some have 4 days with 10 hours...some of them start before the semester even starts! Around mid-August.

Wow....I guess I'd like to start a little early if it meant finishing clinical early!

OMG you guys. There's some major stuff going down at ECC today lol. Our teacher went back and rewarded everyone 2 points on the cardiac test so there were about 5 or 6 people who went on to 4th semester because of these 2 points. There's now a girl trying to appeal a question back on the respiratory test because she's still not making it by .3 points. There's one girl who's particularly upset because she had to repeat 3rd semester because of 2 points on the final and our teacher didn't do anything to try and pass her on....oh man...she's livid...I would be too if I were her. You guys already know when she let us retake the respiratory test. There would have been half the class not making it had they not been able to retake that test. There are a lot of people who worked their tails off all semester and passed without any help and they're sooooo mad. I'm not upset about it because they can't ask for extra points or challenge questions on the NCLEX so it will catch up with them someday, in my opinion. These extra points will only carry them that far. And here I thought the summer would calm everyone down It's calmed me down- I couldn't care less about this drama....it's sooooo not worth my emotions.

We would get some extra points on some unit tests during the semester. One time our instructor accepted all answers on one question because we never talked about that particular topic and it wasn't even in the syllabus. :smackingf

Edit: Do you remember when the 4th lecture instructor told us that she gave extra points once during her teaching career? :)

My deal is that these points magically appear a month after we've taken the test and there were about 5 or 6 students failing by 2 points...hmmm..I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I can figure this one out pretty quickly. Nobody was protesting questions after the test so why did they wait so long? I think there should be a deadline on that...not just to use it for your own advantage when you don't make it in the end. We had already been awarded 4 points on that test...now 6....hmmm....
