i know some of us have received our letters so i was wondering who else i will be making this journey with for the next 2 years.
my name is allison shaffer and it's nice to meet you. i know we will all be close because it's a small group. it would be nice to get to know some of you before november 17. :)
Congrats. :wink2:I don't know my clinical grade yet. The truth is that my group doesn't have any clinical grade yet. We don't even know our grade for our major care plans. Well, they just want to make it more exciting, aren't they? :monkeydance:

Thanks! I barely made it though... I got 90 overall and my major careplan was an 85. I did a nicu baby and I struggled with it!

I was wrong... an 83 is a B. It's in the syllabus on page 16. Sorry about the confusion!! Allison, you obviously know alot because you are still here and your grades are very consistant. My grades this semester range from a D to an A!!! You will do great....-Brianna
Don't be sorry. I'm just glad the numbers didn't change along with all the other policies.
Congrats on your A in clinical!
Allison,
You did great - a B is NOT bad at all. Don't be so hard on yourself.

I just got finished with test 4 and I got an 84. I guess I am still sitting at a B even if I had made a 96 so it's all good. I was thinking I did a lot better than that but I guess I'll see all of my stupid mistakes when we review next week!
Ok, i need to ask you guys, did any of you purchased the evolve book box for sec. semester and was it helpful. What was included, besides the two required books with study guides and the " Nursing Care of Children" Virt. Clinical Exc. Cd's.? I know it will give you everything accessible on computer and you can type in a word and it automatically searches every book and brings it all up for you, I realize that is a big help. But other than that, I have purchased the "Box" for first sem., and thought it was a ripoff. Yes it gave you all these extra little books on the Cd's, but it really is just repeated stuff. And we are bombarded with material as it is, I just had no time to look all into it. I wished I had saved those extra $ 200 that some classmates said they saved, by purchasing the books used the old fashioned way on amazon, or such. What were your experiences, any suggestions, does it get any better, did it help you guys study or get any more info?
I purchased all of the books I needed for this semester off of half.com and didn't even think about buying that book pac and have been making the same grades as the people who bought that dumb thing. I, personally, thought it was a complete ripoff in first semester. I have been doing just fine without a slow program bogging down my computer just so I can read it on the screen! I spent over less than half buying my books used. Granted their not all new and shiny and pretty but they have the same info! You can do what works best for you but you sound like I did at the end of first semester- a little annoyed at wasting that much money....
I'm just "technologically challenged" and prefer good ol' thumbing through pages. Mainly because my eyes hurt on the computer screen...I know- I'm such a wimp.or as my huband likes to call it- "whiny" lol
Have you picked a patient today?
Have fun tomorrow, I know how much you like pedi. :balloons:
