El Centro Spring 2015

Published

Hi all,

I am starting a tread for all the students that will be applying for spring 2015 ADN program at El Centro. Please join and give any info that you might have. I want to be successful as well as everyone else trying to apply.

Hi everyone!

Did anyone notice that the new immunization from requires us to have two doses of Hepatitis A!? I am so confused.....the actual application form never lists Hep A under the required vaccinations. I go to the doc tomorrow for my physical exam and I need to know if I need to start my Hep A shots. I tried to call the school and no one is answering their phone. :(

I've been calling and emailed them as well but have not been able to reach anyone.

Thanks for pointing that out!!! I have no idea!! But the way I read the page, it seems like yes we have to complete it through Sentry MD before applying!! But you're right, does that go for us spring 2015 applicants!!! Some people may have turned their apps in before the Sentry MD was posted!! I'm emailing to ask!! If anybody finds out first please post!!

So I finally got in contact with the Director of the Nursing program and she said we do need to sign up with sentry and submit all the documents and make sure we have all the required immunizations. HEP A was added and you need two doses. These need to be done 6 months apart so she said they are aware of the time frame so we need to have our first dose of HEP A when we submit our packet. :nailbiting: I had just finished getting everything together last week, I’m so glad I looked at the website. I made another doctor’s appointment for tomorrow to get my HEP A and have my doctor fill out all the paper work for Sentry.

It feels so last minute to have to do this!! I need to check my immunizations see if I have any

^^ wasn't finished!! Have to see if I have any hep A immunizations and figure this Sentry MD out!!! Make everything is uploaded to their site correctly!!! I haven't started and it feels annoying!! Booo!! Thanks for letting us know!!

Oh wow! This is getting more tougher! This additional stuff could scare people away. But hey, we need to be strong and unshakeable in chasing our dreams. :-)

Does anyone know when we have to have our Sentry forms in? I'm assuming before July 15th but I wonder how long it takes for it to process

I know this is an obvious question but does that mean we do not turn in the old physical exam form but instead turn in this new one to sentry md?

I would do both just to be on the safe side

I was wondering the same thing! Has anyone received their hep A shot yet?

I just got my Hep A shot yesterday and submitted my SentryMD paperwork last night via e-mail. It sounds like we no longer have to submit the immunization from with our nursing packet (in the 9"X12" envelope)......right?

So if that's true, our nursing application will include:

-The completed nursing application form

-signed statement of student's responsibility

-Official Hesi A2 test scores

-and any course substitution forms that you may have

For me, that's only three pieces of paper. Does that sound right?

I was accepted for Fall 2014, and they just told us about the Sentry MD, (new company they are using now) so we all have been submitting our immunizations to them. Since you are now going to be using Sentry MD you do not need to submit your immunizations with your apps. Also I submitted all of my immunizations and within hours I received an email saying that they have been processed and approved. They will let you know what you are missing and if they won't accept anything.

Also Hep. A is not mandatory. Most of us didn't have the shots so we had to get our first dose now and get the second dose 6 months later. So as long as you have the first dose then you are all set.

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!!
