El centro nursing fall 2016

Published

Hello, I know this is going up kind of early but i was wondering if anyone else was applying to the nursing program at el centro for fall 2016, if i am not mistaken , the deadline is some where in november to January. How many points will you guys have by the time you apply?

gaby

Yes, I remember reading in the powerpoint or the information packet, but I also talked to someone in nursing admissions who said we only need the first shot to apply. I'm going to get my first one tomorow.

Yes, you only need to get the first Hep A. My sentry was approved. I was wondering though I sent my information in back in May or so for the approval. Had a physical done last October. Do you guys think I need to resend to Sentry and get another physical. Or will I be ok for turning my app in December?

I got denied acceptance for not having my second Hep A vaccine.

Did you fight it?

No I did not. They denied a lot of applications due to sentryMD so I guess they changed the requirements. I'll try to find Fall 2015's application packet or the letter I received where it states both doses of Hep A are required. Below is the email I received from SentryMD.

Elizabeth,

You are missing the second Hep A vaccine.

Thank you,

You only need one Hep A and 2 Hep B to get accepted and you need to have all complete by the time you start clinical. I got accepted with one Hep A

Has anyone applied to the program yet?

I am reapplying and wondering what I need to do about Sentry and all my shots and stuff from last semester. ugh!! I hate having to start the process all over again. I am also applying at UTA and TVCC. Retaking HESI 11/14

I have another vaccination question. So I had my physical a little over a week ago & the Dr looked over my shot record & some other forms showing proof of vaccination that I brought in and said all I need is Hep A. I guess my question is.. ah I don't know how to word it. How picky is SentryMD? I read that it all has to be on one PDF or they will not honor it. Im okay with that but like for instance I plan on submitting my shot record. That sucker is OLD it has dated stamps on it and just looks sort of unofficial. Things were different 25 years ago. I also have a couple print outs that have letter head but its nothing super fancy or official looking. My Dr told me that my measles and mumps that I had as an infant is good also my Hep B is good. I don't see why they wouldn't honor my childhood shot record then. I just hope they honor this stuff. Has anyone had any other similar issues???? Thanks!!! :)

A lot of students use their old shot records. I could not find mine so I had to get titers. Just make sure you send everything to Sentry as soon as you can so they can let you know what you need if you don't have it. I have heard it was not a big deal. Your doctor can fill out that part stating that you have all shots you have. If it will make you feel better, email the school. Ms. Davenport was always really helpful to me....

I don't plan on applying until January.

Thats okay as long as you turn in application by Jan 30 or 31st (which ever the deadline is)

So I just looked at my denial letter from ECC and it does say I only need 1 dose of Hep A, but according to Sentry I was missing my second dose.
