Published

Hello, I know this is going up kind of early but i was wondering if anyone else was applying to the nursing program at el centro for fall 2016, if i am not mistaken , the deadline is some where in november to January. How many points will you guys have by the time you apply?

Hi Sarah,

You can take the HESI as many times as you need to at DCCCD. WHen I took HESI I scheduled more than one at a time since the filled up quickly. So in case I didn't score as high as I wished, I had another date available. I ended up taking that thing 5 times ugh! The deadline for Fall 2016 is Jan 31 (I believe). So if I were you, I would try to get another date before your test date and maybe one right after. Believe me they fill up fast. Just a lil FYI, try to do your best the first or second time becasue the ete3st will keep giving you ones that you missed. For example, I had problems with conversions in math and by my 5th test, my math was almost all freaking conversions!!!! I am not sure what the letter is you mentioned.

I was recently accepted into the program with 27 points and I had to drop for health reasons and plan to apply for Fall 2016 also. If you have any questions about the process of the program feel free to ask.

GOOD LUCK

How much is the registration fee for the hesi? I thought you could only take the Hedi once per application period? Or I thought that's what it said on the nursing website...?

See .. I thought I read that some where too!!! Hmph?

Okay, so I just read through the HESI website through & through & it says nothing about a restriction on taking it per application period. I also read the whole section on the HESI in the nursing packet and it said nothing either. I think I have that stuck in my head because at Collin they have a restriction like that for there PSB.

@Lnduke81 I think I am totally going to do that! & if I score well enough the first time then oh well its only a $35 loss. I'll take that! I was going to ask if for example I took it a secon time but scored better the first, can I submit my first attempt but I read that they only accept the last attempt .. that sucks. I hope I dont have to take it 5 times!! Ahh! How many points did you have on your last attempt? Also did you ever take the prep course they offer? If so was it useful?

They only accept the last attempt! Which sucked for me for sure! It's the reason I am scared to retake.

I would have to look again to see my points.

I didn't take prep course. I heard by many students it was a waste of time and money, and the hesi guide is best review.

Exactly which guide? What is the name?

I used "Admission Assessment Exam Review, 3rd edition. I believe the school sells it as well as other online company such as Amazon. It was very helpful for me. Except the AP part because the AP part of test is so random. Here is the ISBN # 9781455703333.

Hey Sarah! I took the HESI 2 out of the 3 times I scheduled to take it. I have the HESI test prep book I'm asking $20 it's brand new I hardly cracked it open.

I have a question for the people who have taken pharm, would you say its a hard course?

Hey Elizabeth! Will you send me the ISBN # of the study book you have?

Thanks @Lnduke81 Im going to order it off Amazon!

Also I have a question about vaccinations! So I saw the dr today for a physical. He reviewed my shot records & said that I seem to have everything except Hep A. He said that he didnt have it but he will have it next Monday 10-5-15. So Monday I will go in & have my first round done and then he will schedule me back in 6months for my second round. Im pretty sure I read somewhere that as long as I have my first round of Hep A completed at the time of applying they will except that. Am I correct? I remember reading that somewhere but cannot find where I read it. Help?!
