Hello all! I just wanted to introduce myself since I will be joining y'all in the journey to Nursing school (fingers crossed.) I applied for Fall 2015 but was denied acceptance due to noncompliance with SentryMD. I was missing a Hep A vaccine which I have now. I decided to wait to reapply for Fall 2016 to really rack up more points. I am also retaking the HESI on September 4th. I look forward to further communicating with y'all![/quote']GOOD LUCK ON HESI :)
Hey y'all! Let me tell you that I had to take that dang HESI 5 times! LOL. Every time I took that test, they gave me the ones I missed the most. By my 5th time the math section was almost all conversions!!!!! UGH!!!! So try your best to pass that thing first or second try! Just dont give up since you can take it as many times as needed.
I was accepted into the ECC program at NLC this Fall 2015 and had to give up my spot and now reapplying with you guys. I have done everything including the orientation, if you have any questions about anything, shout out! :) Good luck! Look forward to talking with you all!!!!!!!!!!
Hello everyone!I feeling a bit nervous; I am submitting my application this November. I will take the HESI again to improve my A/P score. How are you guys doing with your application?
Don't feel bad. I have done it all, and was accepted to the fall 2015 program and had to give up my spot and now in the process of doing it all over again with you all. If I can help, let me know
Hello everyone! I have just decided to hopefully get to apply for the Fall 2016 at El Centro. Any tips on how to study for the hesi?
I studied the study guide thoroughly. The math is pretty much same on test as study guide. I studied all the vocab words and I got quite a bit from the book. The AP was all over the place. I hope you remmeber well from AP class LOL. I didnt I took summer fast track so that didnt help me on HESI! ALso, be sure you pass it first or second time. I took it 5 times! Every time I took it, the questions I missed the most kept repeating. SO my 5th time, my math was almost all conversions!!! THat was my weak spot. Same went for other subjects as well. I kept getting hormones wrong in AP and every test I took was more and more uugh!!!! GOOD LUCK! Let us know how you did. I would love to retake but I am scared I will fail another section! NO WAY JOSE!!!! LOL!!!
Hello everyone, I'm Sarah! I have been following this post & the El Centro ADN Spring 2016 for quite some time, just thought I'd say hi as I too am in this journey with you all. I have been taking classes at Collin College in hopes of applying to their program but after a lot of thought I have decided to redirect and apply to El Centro as I feel I have a better shot at getting in. After this fall semester I will have 20 points. I have not yet taken the HESI (I'm freaking out about it)! I am scheduled to take it Jan 9, 2016. I know I am waiting to the last minute so to speak, but I will be finished with my fall classes Dec 13. and like to have a good 3-4wks to study for the test and the test alone, not worry about my other classes. Hopefully by doing this I will be able to score at the very least a 9 on it & not have to re take it. I have a Dr appt on Monday to get a physical and start my vaccines. My mother is mailing my shot record so once I receive that & get some titers done I should know what I need. I am also CPR certified. I will be completely crushed if I don't get in.
I do have a couple question if you guys don't mind. Let says I do not score as high as I'd like on the HESI. Can I turn around & take the test again at another facility? Obviously before the application deadline. Or is there some rule that you have to wait a certain amount of time before retaking? Also does submitting a letter from yourself with your application benefit you? Or maybe a letter of recommendation from your employer who is a physician? Thanks in advance!
Hi Sarah,
You can take the HESI as many times as you need to at DCCCD. WHen I took HESI I scheduled more than one at a time since the filled up quickly. So in case I didn't score as high as I wished, I had another date available. I ended up taking that thing 5 times ugh! The deadline for Fall 2016 is Jan 31 (I believe). So if I were you, I would try to get another date before your test date and maybe one right after. Believe me they fill up fast. Just a lil FYI, try to do your best the first or second time becasue the ete3st will keep giving you ones that you missed. For example, I had problems with conversions in math and by my 5th test, my math was almost all freaking conversions!!!! I am not sure what the letter is you mentioned.
I was recently accepted into the program with 27 points and I had to drop for health reasons and plan to apply for Fall 2016 also. If you have any questions about the process of the program feel free to ask.
GOOD LUCK
