congratulations! to everyone that is starting in january!
i'm so excited to meet everyone-please introduce yourself!
:groupwelcome:
Well, truth be told, I'm not doing much of anything to prepare. I know that sounds crazy, but with the holidays and all, I just don't have any time hardly. I'm planning on taking it as soon as I get my ATT so it will still be fresh. I'm sure in the few days before, I'll do some questions and stuff, but I'm not planning on doing anything too major. I just did questions for the couple days before the HESI and scored a 1085, so I think I should be alright. At least that's what they say!
I'm glad to see you hanging out back on the boards! Just cause you graduate and get a license doesn't mean you have to go away! LOL
Take Care,

I was such a worry wort when it came to the NCLEX! I did take a week off for Christmas, but I studied like no other until then! I will say that I did the HURST Review, and it was the best review I'd ever had! All of the topics from nursing school that were a little hazy became so clear and they taught me how to answer the questions the way the NCLEX wanted me to. Alot of hospitals will reimburse you for a review course once you pass the NCLEX.
I know y'all probably thought I fell of the planet, but I just got so busy with Christmas, graduation, my internship, my husband also graduated from UTA, and we were buying a house! Life is less busy now, but I'm starting a RN-BSN program and Jan so we'll see what happens.
Best Wishes,
Brie
Thanks everyone I'm still not sure that it's sunk in yet.
My job has an NCLEX review class, which I'm attending tomorrow. I'm just trying to do some questions every day, in between shopping for Christmas presents. My weakest areas on the HESI were OB and Pedi, which I knew going into it. So, I suppose I should spend some time reading up on those, too.
I plan to keep coming around here, but just in case ... I'm fairly active on Facebook and Myspace. If you'd like to be friends, let me know and I'll PM you my name so we can find each other :)
Any of you guys from ECC remember how many days it took after the final that it took to get your ATT?? Just trying to plan since I'm going to be gone for about 9 days in January. Thanks!

Back in May, we took the Hesi on Wednesday May 7, 2008 and I got my ATT on May 28, 2008 so about three weeks. Some of my classmates did not receive theirs until June and one of them did not get theirs until July, but that was due to ECC boo-boo. I tested on June 17 because it was at the Dallas location on that date. Good luck to you with the upcoming NCLEX!
Hope y'all had a great Christmas!!No ATTs yet?
Merry Christmas everyone! No ATTs yet. I've been checking the BON for graduate nurse temporary permits, and I'm still not showing up. Based on what you guys said though, it should come right about Jan 1. Which means I'll have 2 days before the cruise to take my test (If I can get an appointment that quick!) Otherwise, it'll have to wait until Jan 13! Did it just come via e-mail, or snail mail too? If it was via e-mail, anyone know what addy so I can add it to my approved list so it doesn't get spammed?

Mine came via email, but in my junk email folder. I really do not remember what addy it came from because I deleted it after I got my license. Just make sure before you trash anything, you are checking to make sure it is not the ATT. Also, make sure you print out everything that it says to print out. I made the boo-boo of not printing out the one paper that was desperately needed which said ATT at the top. I had all the other papers, but they needed that one especially before I could test. They made me go and get it the day of testing. Luckily, there was a nice security guard at the Dallas location that printed it out for me so I could test. Just make sure to print each attachment and not to forget any of them so you don't have to go through what I did day of the test! I actually think I had two different emails, that had different attachments in each, so definitely be checking that junk mail!!!!
