Anyone play golf?

[bANANA]My daughter's drill team is hosting a golf tournament on October 20th. If you are a player, or know someone who is, it is $100/person, or $400/team of 4 players. Send me your email address, and I will forward the flyers to you.[/bANANA]

End of my ad....lol

See, now I'm dealing with school and drill team! :uhoh3: Oh well...it's been school and cheerleading since she was in 7th grade. She's a junior now.

It's really fun to balance school, and family when the family has so much to do. lol

Holy Cow! This is the Big Week!!! AAAHHHH! Freaking out!

Well.....finally got the kids off to school. It is a mess the first couple of days with the buses and bus routes. We have two special need children that ride the bus....this morning was hilarious! At 7:00 they picked up our 18 year old who is in high school and dropped her off and came back by around 8:00 for the one who is in middle school. She was on time....he was late! I was quite the smart *** this morning when they called to tell me he was late. I said "well, if the bus driver had put him on the bus when the older child got on.....then he would not have had to come back by and waste time.....and this is my problem.....how?" Anyway.....things will get back in the groove and I will gather my sanity for Wednesday morning.

lol..Kendra. New bus driver? :D

I don't like the first day or so of school, nor the last week of school. SO HECTIC, HECTIC, HECTIC!!

I need coffee, or a nap. A nap sounds better.

Don't forget all the copies everyone needs to bring to lecture! (Copies of the following: proof of Medspub payment, signed 'Signature Form for Student Information ADN Policies" from the syllabus (or ecampus), proof of tuition payment, proof of insurance payment, and for skills lab and/or clinical: copy of current CPR card, current PPD/Tb results, and copy of proof that all immunizations are current.)

lol, I think we all still have some butterflies,

but remember, we are here , if you have questions

Questions, yes! Freaking out, NOOOOO!! The old guy is too old to freak... :) Anyway, Yang has been a big help with this but I wanted to ask some other folks what nursing care plan books are you using. If you all don't mind, reply with the book title as I have not yet purchased that one but will do so after I hear what ya'll like best...

Thanks!!

Specializes in Operating Room.

I have Nursing Care Planning Guides (For Adults in Acute, Extended, and Home Care Settings), 6th edition by Ulrich/Canale.

It's a good one, but doesn't have direct OB careplans. Of course, OB is 2nd semester, and not even the whole semester. So...I managed. :)

I have Ackley's.

How was everyone's orientation?

I have realized (again) that you have to be flexible if you want to graduate. My clinical has changed, my lecture has changed and I still don't have the necessary paperwork for next week. Lovin' it. :smokin:

Specializes in ER.

Old Guy, you're making me blush! Katie - we had a whole clinical section get cancelled and they got farmed out to other sections... Many of them were less than pleased...fortunately, I was not one of them. However, as usual, El Centro's planning is less than fabulous. I'm sorry your schedule got messed with - that stinks to say the least. Other than that, orientation was as I expected it to be....disorganized, and not real interesting...lol

I like this one the best: Nursing Diagnosis Reference Manual , by Sparks/Taylor ; it has a Pedi and OB section also, (I have an older version, so it doesn't matter which one you get)

http://www.amazon.com/Nursing-Diagnosis-Reference-Manual-Sheila/dp/1582552924/ref=pd_bbs_2/002-5175289-1384017?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1188309085&sr=8-2

Many students like this one: Nursing Diagnosis Handbook, A Guide to planning Care, by Ackley

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0323048269/sr=1-1/qid=1188309384/ref=olp_product_details/002-5175289-1384017?ie=UTF8&qid=1188309384&sr=1-1&seller=

again, you can look for older versions, the only thing changes, is the up to date NANDA.

I have some old versions (used) in both books and have been doing fine, saves you some big bucks :lol2:.

There are also some abreviated free web pages you can access

http://connection.lww.com/Products/boyd3e/nursingcareplans.asp

http://www1.us.elsevierhealth.com/MERLIN/Gulanick/Constructor/index.cfm?plan=55

Then you can also go on your Evolve account and get acces to the resources from Ackley(mentioned above) and one other careplan book, i found the :Gulanick Nursing careplans, 5th ed. . Check it out, Evolve lets you load lots of other books on there , that you haven't even bought. I have put many OB ,Pedi and Med/Surg books on there just to use the NCLEX question that are in the back of the book.

Hope all the links work.
