Starting a new thread for the next class at EC/NL...:yeah:

Congrats to all..... :bugeyes::lol2:

Any of the older students/alumni out there that can give us words of wisdom/advise we would love to hear it....

We've pulled the book lists for both EC & NL Spring 08 - what books do we REALLY need off of the required lists and which can we do without? Also, what support books do we REALLY need?

O.K. one more question. Where did ya'll get your name badges. I looked online at Office Depot, but it does not fit my whole name. I am one letter short.

Thanks Michele, I wonder though if the font is too big. They say 10pt, but on the website it does not show lower than 14pt. What do you think?

I know, I thought about that too. 10 pt type is so small, I was thinking that was a minimum size or something. Maybe I should email Kanora. Hmmmmm,

O.K. another question. What do we do about Evolve..Jim MarCarty online Resource. Is this something we have to pay for, or is it free. It says please register by Monday Aug 18th.

You have two options with registering for the Evolve account. Either pay the fee it specifies online or enter the code from the inside cover of the user guide that comes with your Fundamentals of Nursing book. Hope that makes sense. I just plunked down the big bucks for the boxes o' books and then registered in Evolve that way. Let me know if you have any other ?'s and I'll try my best to answer them.

I am going this week to get my books. I am needing to do my last HepB shot. So I am waiting for El Centro Health to call me back, so I can a make appt.

Anybody get any study guides? Care Plan guides?

I noticed we can now access Ecampus for Fall Classes. But I don't think they have updated all of our info for class this semester on there.

If you plan to go to El Centro for the shot, I'd say just go down there. I've had several shots there, including the Hep B shots, and I just walked in :D

It's gonna be a Sales Tax Holiday this weekend... Does anyone have access or knowledge of some of the stuff we might consider getting for clinicals to take advantage of zero sales tax?

I'll be getting my scrub bottoms and the all black shoes. How about supplies? Med scissors, stethoscope (if you haven't bought a good one), Sponge bob lunch box :up:, etc...

I was wondering the same thing about Tax Free Weekend. I am going to go buy "general school supply stuff".

I went and bought my book box today. The guy at the counter was nice and carried my books out to my car for me. Thanks goodness because it seemed very heavy. I have opened the boxes and went through everything. Alot of reading...

Today on Ecampus they posted another Nursing Class. You can print out RNSG 1460 Online and Lab Schedule for Fall. Alot of stuff we are going to be covering in the first 8weeks. I think I should start studying now.

I also got my Stethoscope and bandage scissors today. UPS delivered it. I bought a Littmann Classic II S.E.

I leave Saturday for Corpus Christi our last trip before school starts. etc. It will be good reading.

I don't have the current syllabus. I am wondering if they are going to post it on ecampus. They do have the Online and Lab Course Schedule posted on ecampus.
