El Centro Fall 2015

Hello All!! I know it is VERY early to be thinking about this but the process to get in takes quite a long time. I wanted to make a thread to help us all get through the application process together, share problems, feelings, etc. :)

Thanks for all of your advice! :) i'm curious to what you mean by last minute things to do. Are you talking about before school starts or throughout the semester? It's kind of worrisome because I've heard from plenty of people how unorganized it is. Yikes! Thanks, again! :)

It is VERY unorganized. I had a horrible first semester since they were short on staff. My clinical teacher quit on me one clinical in. WE had to make up our entire clinical the week before the HESI which is 30% of our final grade in all classes. It is throughout, not before. Just be ready. It is very stressful! I think i cried the first week alone a few times. lol The important part is figuring out how to study. I wish the school would have included a "Test Taking Class" first semester because I feel like we could have all benefited from learning the little tips and tricks they suggest for nursing students.

Hello Nela87, Thanks for your suggestions. I have few questions, which I like to ask you.. Is it okay for you to share with your email id? Mine is [email protected] Please send me a test email and I will reply you....Appreciate your help.

Hello Guys, Finally I am accepted in the program in Northlake College. I applied with 30 points. As you know, I got my denial letter on 05/2/2015 saying I am not compliant with Sentry MD. I had sent all my shots details and CPR in the month of December itself to Sentry MD and got their confirmation.

Yesterday I went to see Dean, Joan Becker at El centro and she refused my proof and threw me out of the room. It was horrible experience, may be first time in the life. I never expected such a bad experience.

Then I went to Dr. LaCheeta McPherson and Sandra Flemming, who are very senior to her at El Centro and I told them my entire experience. With their help, finally I got confirmation saying I am accepted in this program.

Dr. LaCheeta McPherson and Sandra Flemming are very nice persons. if you are genuine and have followed all rules for this program as per the brochure, they will definitely listen to you and you will get the justice.

In case, you have similar issues, make sure, your case is genuine and you follow the above protocol... I am sure, you will be alright.

I spent at least 4 sleepless nights just because of this issue.. we all know, how much hard work, we have done to come this far...

All the best for you guys and See you in Northlake College.

Do the acceptance letters list the date of the orientation? I am applying for Spring 2016 but was just curious about how close to the start of the semester, orientation is.

Thanks!

The date of the orientation is included in the letter. I believe Fall 2015 is in June.

Hey guys just a reminder to join the Facebook page for all who got accepted into either el centro/northlake ..

i haven't been back on here in a few days so I just want to make sure everyone joins !!! Let me know if the link doesn't work!!! :)

Seems like you've been put through the ringer. Glad you got into Northlake.

Good luck everyone! I started Spring 2015, and here is the schedule that my group had. We had clinicals on Tuesday at Legacy from 6am-4pm (First semester only has 6 clinical days). On Wednesdays we had two classes. One class was from 9-11 and the other class was 12-2. Then on Saturdays we had ten hour skills (7am-6pm) and occasionally Sundays too. The parking downtown isn't that expensive. On the weekdays its 5$ for 4 hours. And 9$ full day until 6 PM. On the weekends its 5$. Also, next semester there making it mandatory to where we will have to wear uniforms everytime were in class. :)

Thanks for sharing good information. My question to you is, when are we doing PNC (professionalism)?

Is it covered with skills or lecture classes?

RNSG-1271 is a lab and RNSG-1171 is a lecture, if I am not mistaken.

I was thinking, RNSG-1171 is covered during the classes on Wednesday as per your response.

and I got confused about RNSG-1271.. That's why I asked that question. When will it be covered? Is it part of skills, you mentioned?

I am new.. and asking you silly questions.. please consider my apologies..

Appreciate if you please can clarify on that one..
